Interesting Unemployment Numbers

Last I saw they were being replaced by lower earning service sector types of jobs. WalMart part time cashiers, things like that. But I will admit that info could be stale and inaccurate.

People say that, yet the average wage keeps increasing in the US (well at least up until this recession.)

Same with unemployment numbers. Do we think that maybe the whole immigration issue is political grandstanding for votes?

It would be interesting to see that number if you excluded C-level associates for Fortune 100 companies.

You have to be a citizen to be considered "unemployed" by any governmental faction. Average wages are just an average of what is being paid out. So if someone is an illegal, and isn't being caught, their wage would still factor into the national average.

Is that true? I thought all the reports are saying that jobs that are outsourced are replaced with other jobs here.

That was the theory. I didn't pan out that way. We are going to have 2 decades of negative job growth. There will need to be some wage normalization before jobs are created in the US again. As it stands, these jobs aren't coming back and it's not likely they are going to be replaced by different types of jobs in the near future. The fact is a lot of people that are out of work now will remain so for a long long time. Or they will take up low level positions. A bit of a re-do for a lot of people.

And yet, Median wage didn't follow, at least for the last "expansion".

Yeah, just about everything I've seen has shown that real wages for a majority of Americans have remained stagnant for over a decade now.

Which is why Republicans quote the average.

S'all good. Eventually we'll all be on the government pay roll anyway. Who needs a job? Gimme Gimme Gimme!

If a lack of government was the answer, Somalia would be the fastest growing economy in the world right now.
