LittleHurt05
"I'm not going to sit somebody who's hot," is Guillen's explanation for keeping Mark Kotsay batting fifth instead of Andruw Jones Ugh, he went 0-4 yesterday and is hitting .

Kalapse
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 23, 2010 -> 10:50 AM) Ugh, he went 0-4 yesterday and is hitting .203 Kotsay's 8 for his last 19 with a HR and 5 BB Jones is 8 for his last 47 with a HR and 6 BB (12 K) It's certainly not his worst logic. Heads22
Freddy Garcia is 41 games over .500 in his career (124-83). I was surprised to find out it was that much. Mark is 36 (138-102). JFP is 27 (98-71). Gavin is 5 over. (38-33). And, of course, Danksy is 2 below (34-36).
chisox2334
We are an AL squad who should be having someone better than jones and kotsay there. I will say good start for jones though Edited May 23, 2010 by chisox2334

Kalapse
QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 23, 2010 -> 11:56 AM) Freddy Garcia is 41 games over .500 in his career (124-83). Well when you play the vast majority of your career on 90+ win teams you're going rack up some victories. From '99 to '06 (8 years) Freddy Garcia played on SIX 90+ win teams. '99: 79 Wins '00: 91 Wins '01: 116 Wins '02: 93 Wins '03: 93 Wins '04: 75 Wins '05: 99 Wins '06: 90 Wins That's an average of 92 wins per season over the 8 years he was regularly healthy. caulfield12
It's still early. We'll win this game for sure. We're just setting the Marlins up to take an early lead and rest on their laurels.
JohnCangelosi
Should Teahen have had Hanley's shot at 3B? Seems like he never makes that play...
Dick Allen
Teahen seems like he's going to fall down playing 3B at least once a game.
caulfield12
QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 23, 2010 -> 12:12 PM) I'm following on Gameday. How did Ramirez not score from second on a double? I think he was kind of "deked" out by Pierre somehow...like he was going to be able to catch that ball. He still scored anyway. Wonder if that will spark another controversy with Gonzalez, who seems to be falling into disfavor big-time with Loria.

It was a tough play. You can't blame him for not making it, but its something we have taken for granted with Crede and Ventura making them occassionally over the years. Only the top few defensive 3B are going to make that play even once in a while.
