Then he calls a curveball, which he hasn't been able to locate this season, on a 3-2 pitch, when Hafner has had problems with Jenks' fastball. Even if he manages to end this thing for the Sox win, it sort of takes away some of the vibe from a good win. That has an effect on players that are already paranoid after too many losses.
