pktmotion
Per Scot Gregor: Daily Herald Don't know if I love the deal for the White Sox considering Kosuke makes $13.5 Mil next year, making $13 this year, and Carlos is in his arb years. But if the Cubs happen to kick in money say ~$5 Mil, i think it becomes intriguing. Fukudome has a good average, gets on base, and also LH. We can temper our expectations, in that he will never be a cleanup hitter like the Cubs initially thought. Although if there ever was a trade that would risk KW getting burned, wouldn't this be it? Quentin to the Cubs. If he were to attain anything close to 2008 numbers, we wouldn't here the end of it from those idiots. What do you guys think? southsider2k5
It is also the time of year Fukodome falls apart. No thanks, even if the contracts aren't a consideration. If we deal with the Cubs, they will be looking at our relievers.

justBLAZE
No thanks. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2010 -> 02:41 PM) Do the Cubs include Castro? Why is it the Cubs bring up some AA prospects (Colvin, Castro) and they stick in MLB right away?
SoxAce
As much as I would love Fukudome (who I like alot) and his OBP/LH stick here, I wouldn't do that deal.
The Beast
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 28, 2010 -> 02:49 PM) No thanks. Why is it the Cubs bring up some AA prospects (Colvin, Castro) and they stick in MLB right away? Because their minor league system doesn't suck, just like the Minnesota Twins'. Frankly, the Cubs's system isn't anything to write home about at all. They're at best in the lower part of MLB, along with the Sox.
LittleHurt05
If the Sox still paid CQ's salary, and the Cubs paid Fuku's salary, might have to think about it. Otherwise, no f***ing way

Kalapse
We had a 22 year old come up from basically AA last year and put up an .800 OPS with league average defense. Castro's really been nothing special so far; he has 2 extra base hits since his major league debut, overall he's been about league average at the plate and pretty weak in the field. Colvin's been an awesome part time player and in the long run that's probably what he'll end up being; a pretty good 4th outfielder.
witesoxfan
To get back to the point in question, there's no way you give up a player of Quentin's talent level for Fukudome. I understand he's struggled quite a bit this year and last year, but he's still got 30 HR power. Fukudome doesn't have anything near that. Hell, Q only got 350 at bats last year, was barely able to walk for 1/2 of those, and still hit 21.
joeynach
Do we really need more wondering and speculation from a bored MLB sports writer. This is dumb, trade would never happen. Move on.
