Joel
For Aarron Harrang andf Joe valentine
SweetJfour
Whew!! That is not nearly as significant as the trade I heard going around about Richie Sexson going to the A's. Jose Guillen is a solid pick-up, but Richie Sexson would have been huge.
cwsox
really? interesting. One could see the entire country following Valentine moving around.
MurcieOne
This is a good thing because guillen was rumored to be going to the Royals. Good for those overachieving f***s.....
Wong & Owens
Great, just in time for when the Sox come to town. IMHO, I think he's overrated. Playing in a hitter's park with some track record of mediocrity. Plus, I hope he sucks so we see Beane fall on his face.
Joel
Add a minor leaguer to that trade. Man Beane gave up a lot for a player that hasn't done much in his career except for this year.

Sorry, but the Rangers aren't involved. Jose Guillen comes from the Reds.
Cerbaho-WG
Guillen's splits are better away from Cincy, so it's dumb to say he'll drop off like a bag of bricks.
aboz56
Joe Valentine might not be as good as we thought now that the Tigers and A's have given up on him in addition to us...

And Expos. Remember, the 'Spos sold him to the Tiggers.

Chisoxfn
Valentine has really struggled in AAA. I think the key to the deal for the Reds is that Harrang can enter their rotation. I think it was a good deal from the Reds perspective. A's may of given up too much, but neither Valentine nor Harrang fit in their plans. LostInBoston
A's are stacked. The Reds are lucky to get two good pitchers from outta them. Guillen's a free agent anyway, so its good that they got something outta the guy. Seems like a clubhouse cancer anyway - or at least he will be for the A's... VAfan
I hate to see the A's get stronger, but this guy may come back to earth. He's never hit anything close to what he's doing this year.
YASNY
You have to give Beane credit. He always finds a way to get what he needs. Glad he wasn't ripping off KW this time. I'm also glad he prevented KC from getting Guillen.
