southsider2k5
In Mozilla the wife installed something that keeps changing the default search to Yahoo everytime the program opens. I want to keep it as Google. Even when I go in and eliminate Yahoo as an option, it still restores it on a restart of Mozilla... How the hell do I fix it? I can't figure it out. It might have something to do with a java update. Whenever java prompts to update they display an option to have yahoo set as your default search and you actually have to uncheck it before continuing the update. BigSqwert
Or come to think of it, that might just be to add a yahoo search bar to the browser. I forget.

BigSqwert
And are you talking about the home page when you open firefox? Can't you just set the homepage to whatever you want via tools->options->general tab->homepage

Can't you just set the homepage to whatever you want via tools->options->general tab->homepage I think he's talking about the search bar at the top right, which features about a half dozen search options. Google is usually on top on mine, his keeps resetting to Yahoo.

If I'm understanding his problem...he does that, but then when Firefox restarts, Yahoo retakes the top spot.

I've noticed that the same engine used last before closing out the browser will be the one that appears when you start it up again.

One solution is to always try uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, if you can bare to lose anything you've saved.

Thanks guys! Java updates will always try to reinstall themselves. Make sure, when it happens, that you don't check the Yahoo toolbar option.
