whitesoxfan99
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 06:13 PM) You racist asshole Yeah pretty much. Wasn't really watching and looked up and saw the breaking balls, didn't really even pay attention to who was up.

RockRaines
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 06:09 PM) This guy's like 2005 Bobby Jenks, but a starter... Just struck out Milledge on two great curveballs. I disagree. I think he is a complete Kerry Wood clone. From that hard breaker to his fastball. And I think he'll have arm troubles just like Kerry did as well. iamshack
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 05:23 PM) You got played. I dunno, J4L....In my league, CC is like the 7th rated hitter in the league thus far, well ahead of Zimmerman. Categories are OBP, SBs, HRs, RBIs, Runs and Total Bases. Plus I have Longoria and Billy Butler at my other two CI positions...
Jordan4life_2007
Mike Stanton with an infield single.

From that hard breaker to his fastball. And I think he'll have arm troubles just like Kerry did as well. His mechanics are slightly better than Wood's. Kerry threw across his body, Strasburg is more over the top. Both do have an inverted W in their delivery though. But still, in a 1 for 1 it's no contest. Steals and saves are something you really shouldn't pay for. Took me a couple years to learn that. justBLAZE
Chuck Garfien cracks me up: "Stephen Strasburg just struck out 7 batters in one inning. He also clogged the hole in the BP oil spill with his mitt.:
RockRaines
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) His mechanics are slightly better than Wood's. Kerry threw across his body, Strasburg is more over the top. Both do have an inverted W in their delivery though. His hard breaker looks just like Kerry's did, and I assume the pressure put on the elbow is the same as well. I foresee a Dr Andrews visit in his future. iamshack
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 05:31 PM) That makes it a little more defensible. But still, in a 1 for 1 it's no contest. Steals and saves are something you really shouldn't pay for. Took me a couple years to learn that. Well, traditionally I stack my roster with all-around players like Braun, Kemp, Zobrist, Utley, Markakis, etc, that do everything...that way you don't have to worry about stolen bases...but Crawford was too much to resist this year, with his RBI production, his run scoring, and his stolen bases... I'll trade him after this season for a more all-around OF.

Jordan4life_2007
So the NL east has either added or will soon add Heyward, Strasburg, Stanton and Harper.
TomPickle
QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 06:44 PM) Has he thrown a change yet? I haven't noticed. He's had a couple pitches down and away at 90-91, but I'm not sure if that's his two-seamer or a change.

chw42
QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) That's what I thought, but his curve is more of a slurve than Jenks' was when he first came up. He has two curves, the power curve, which is what Bobby throws, and a 12-6. He also has a slurve too. Edited June 8, 2010 by chw42
