Taiwan Easterling drafted by the Marlins in the 31st round. He was drafted by them in the 6th round coming out of HS. He's only a RS SO so hopefully he plays football in the fall and then actually gets some playing time next year on the diamond improving his status.

The Sox just selected John Spatola from Boston College. He's an OF who i've seen play against UCONN a handful of times. He's a decent player, a bit stiff in the field, but the guy can hit.

Great kid! Walk on at BC. Played with Terry Doyle and Kevin Moran. 316 BA +900 OPS this year. What you call a Gamer!

Future Sox:"35 (1058): John Spatola, OF, L/L, Boston College

Productive senior outfielder with some speed and power. Crouches down in batting stance. Hit .316/.398/.596 with 17 HR, 21 BB and 46 K in 228 AB. 13-17 SBA.

HS LHP from Cali for the Sox. Ben Griset. He seems like a really interesting guy. He's a commit to St. Mary's but said he'd sign for the right price. Named the top

high school prospect in Merced County. He put up, "a 3-1 record with a 1.08 ERA. He's struck out 52 hitters and surrendered only 12 hits in 26 innings." Has a 90 MPH fastball

I'm really liking this Griset kid. He's 6-2-195 and check out these this, " Each time Griset would toe the rubber, scouts would wield their radar guns, fixing their aim on the explosive power pitcher.

He never disappointed.

Griset was named the Western Athletic Conference MVP after posting a 6-3 record with six complete games, a 0.68 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 62 innings.

He possesses a plus-fastball that tops out at about 92 mph, a sharp breaking ball and, with the help of CenCal director and pitching coach Mike McNeil, is developing a changeup.

More important to his draft stock, Griset added 15 pounds to his lower trunk, which will help give his fastball more speed and movement as he moves forward."

Wow, kind of surprised he went that deep in the draft, the way they are describing him. Hopefully he signs.
