Anybody Scoot?

As of tomorrow I will be the proud owner of a new Genuine Buddy scooter.

Anyone on here scoot or ride cycles at all? I wonder if there are enough people to do a meet up at a Sox game?

I primarily bought mine because I want something for around town that is easier to park, easier on gas, and easier on my wallet when I trade my car back in ( I lease). These bad boys get over 60 mph and can be parked almost anywhere around town.

Used to own one of these. This was a monster of a machine. Lots of power, and super light. Riding is one of the best experiences around. Nothing beats it. Just remember for all of you riders out there. Keep safe and protect yourself. Have seen too many accidents.

Did it feel stable? Does Illinois require a license for those?

Not motorcycle license because technically its a 149cc. Feels very stable, but small and light enough that a girl could drive it if she wants to. A very good machine. Chicago-based company.

So, just a driver's license is needed then?

"L" class license for 150 cc's and under.

I am enrolled to get my "M" anyway. The L is very easy to get, just go to DMV and take test.

So far almost 300 miles on my blackjack and loving every min of it. I can drive to Sox games and park basically anywhere I want in any permit zone. I ride up north to grab food and whatnot and my gf and I ride 2-up to just about any restaurant and can park basically for free. This is the only way to get around.

So far spent about 6 dollars on gas.

This isn't directed at anyone here, but now that it's hot out, it's officially "ride around like an asshole and ask to get killed" motorcycle season.

Probably not wearing helmets.

Would these be safe going from the city to the suburbs on the highway? Obviously there is an inherent risk when it comes to bikes, but can these bikes handle that speed?

Yeah, it can get enough speed, but it's mostly going to be city driving anyway. And I'll gear up like a mofo either way.

Oh yea, I would to, just curious if it's a legit option if I move to the city in a year or so. Would save on gas and parking, which is insane downtown (can't even imagine paying over $250 a month to park).

I basically only drive my jeep when I have to go somewhere for work etc. In the city, its my scooter right now 80mpg and now the Ducati. At least the bike will be able to handle the highway I want to expand out a bit.

It saves me TONS on gas and the parking benefits are awesome when I go anywhere within 50 blocks. You dont need the zoned permits either.

I can't imagine my 6'6 frame could look right on one of those things.

Yeah, you would need a large bike for that height most likely. I am 6'1" and a standard fits me just fine. The little 250's i just got my license on werent very comfortable.
