ThunderBolt
QUOTE (aprec32 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) Hawk simply goes silent after every Beckham at bat. I used to get so excited every time he came to the plate. That kid could make things happen.
Flash Tizzle
It's not only good pitches with ripples that trouble Beckham (as they do most mlb players), he's even missing hangers. What's terrible is, it's not as if we could have known that from college because, how many good pitchers with decent curveballs/sliders did he face? ThunderBolt
It troubles me that Walker thinks Beckham's problems are mental. Last year, he struck me as a guy who didn't let struggles get him down. In fact, he used to rib Q about that. What's terrible is, it's not as if we could have known that from college because, how many good pitchers with decent curveballs/sliders did he face? He would kill most hangers last year...remember his bomb against Lackey? I've noticed though that both Beckham and Quentin really struggle with high curve, no matter how bad the pitch is. fathom
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 09:49 PM) Thornton is up. That's silly, as it's not like he's going to face hitters 2-5 for them. If he's going to warm up, bring him in to face Fukudome.

Are you saying Thornton is only going to pitch against lefties? Some people want him to close. Uh he'll face a lot of righties as a closer.
