Not sure how I feel about this. We didnt save all that much money and we got alot softer. I LOVED Buff, but the other two are expendable with what we have coming up. I considered Aliu part of the future however. The picks are nice to have though.

Still trying to calculate why they included him, seemed fair without him.

Same. I was very excited from the day we drafted him to see him play for the Hawks. Bummer.

Atl just decided to go all Broad Street Bullies on the East with Buff, Eager and Aliu. Those are three big dirty MF'ers.

I think 5.

Morin was 4th in goals this year in the OHL and 1st in PP goals. He's supposed to be a sniper.

Just doing my research on him now, looks like a solid spect, maybe better than Aliu.

Byfuglien & Aliu gone in the same trade? I never realized that the Bowmans were just huge racists.

The trade would save $4.8 from the cap = $3 for Buff + $2 for Sopel + $1 for Eager - $1.2 for Reasoner

Not bad. Need to get rid of Huet, probably Steeger and Ladd and start to sign.

They took two crap players off our hands, plus a lot of salary. A guy like Aliu makes the deal more palatable for Atlanta.

From what I am researching, the prospect we got in return may be a better player than Aliu who has fallen out of favor in the Hawks front office.

And since we have 4 picks in the first 2 rounds next year, I wonder if we try to trade up to get a stud, or if we are just collecting picks like the Pats.

TSNBobMcKenzie: Hold up on trade call appears to be tied to waiting for league personnel to land in Los Angeles.

I hated to see Aliu gone, but it looks like Morin is a much better prospect. Reasoner seems to be a John Madden replacement. Can't argue with draft picks in the top two rounds.

Eager is just a guy, Sopel did block a ton of shots in the playoffs, but you can find someone else to do that for much cheaper. Buffs was a vital part of the Cup run, but somebody had to go, his value ia at its highest, and you can't guarantee he will consistently do what he did in the playoffs. It's funny to see all these peoples reactions on Facebook, mostly people who just started watching in the playoffs, who actually didn't see it coming. "OMG, I can't believe they traded Big Buffs, NOOO!!"
