A few people said the same thing a year ago when he was putting up better numbers in Low A. His stats say he should be pushed, but that doesn't mean it will happen. He's doing pretty much what I figured he'd do this year - still a very low walk rate, still a very high K rate but not as spectacularly high, GO/AO improved, but his core numbers (ERA, WHIP) are slightly worse. All expected with his jump. The key with Dan, given his numbers are as expected, is velocity - the organization wanted to see him turn his 89 FB into 92 if possible. With his superb control and good breaking stuff, adding a few clicks to the fastball could make him a devastating pitcher. I'd love to know if he's made any progress in that area.
