Ozzie Ball Posted June 17, 2010 Share Posted June 17, 2010 (edited) Hot and Cold 6/10-6/16 The Winston-Salem Dash were the only team who managed to finish with a weekly record at or above .500, and a new name graces the Hot and Cold list in the form of Brazilian ace Andre Rienzo. Hot Hitter: Dayan Viciedo, 1B, Triple-A Cold Hitter: Miguel Gonzalez, C, Low-A Hot Pitcher: Andre Rienzo, RHP, Low-A Brazilian pitcher Andre Rienzo is an interesting sleeper prospect in the Sox system. The 6'3" right hander has a good fastball that can touch the mid to upper 90's, with a couple of promising off-speed pitches. He had his best start with Kannapolis this week going 6 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 8 SO. His overall numbers on the year, 19.1 IP, 0-2, 6.05 ERA, 25 SO/11 BB may not look that impressive, but don't be fooled by the high ERA, as Rienzo's 2.77 FIP is a much better indication of his performance level. He's been great. Honorable mentions: Joe Serafin (13.1 IP, 2.03 ERA, 3 BB/10 SO), Carlos Torres (11.1 IP, 2.38 ERA, 7 BB/7 SO) and Nate Jones (5 IP, 0.00 ERA, 4 BB/3 SO).
