Thats a good question to which i have no definitive answer but I'll guess yea it would be an out since he's in possession of the ball.

someone needs to email the booth to find out for sure.

Well, those of you that wanted to see Dayan.....he may get some time today.

I'm waiting for another Lillibridge three run shot, myself. That and some Randy Williams.

Dayan can DH unless Ozzie wants to make him the defensive replacement for Vizquel tonight.

I remember when Melky Cabrera was an often-mentioned candidate for the White Sox CF job if he could be acquired...

Just has never quite fulfilled his promise.

Too busy fulfilling porn stars

Ah but don't you have to have definite control of the ball? I mean the runner is safe if the ball is bobbled, right? How can the infielder be in control if he doesn't even realize that he has the ball?

Hmmm... Where's Buck Showalter when you need him?

I'd say the opposite. He doesn't really have control of the ball, it's just stuck in his shirt. You have to be on COMPLETE control of the ball when you tag the base, having he ball rolling around in your shirt does not count.

That did cross my mind but I made the call and I'm sticking to it.

Hawk doesn't even try to read the outfielder. When he's standing still with his glove up at the front of the track you can probably quit yelling "stretch".

he's gotta make it exciting man :headbang

The ball has to be in your hand or glove. You cannot use a part of your uniform to catch or possess the ball. See rule 2.00 definition of terms.

It's just real nice to enjoy White Sox baseball again. Even if this all amounts to nothing in the end at least we're getting some highly entertaining baseball out of this, it's a nice change of pace from their previous 3 or 4 months of play.
