Also got rid of their bench coach and hitting coach. Edwin Rodriguez named interim manager.

I respect Fredi for how he stood up to Hanley. Like others said, the owners expectations are so high yet he won't allow his team to spend any money.

John Heyman said that Gonzalez is the early favorite to replace Bobby Cox next year.

Your team has one of the three lowest payrolls in the league, but its the managers fault he cant win a division against Philly & New York. Of course. I think he did a great job with what he was given, and if Atlanta does get him, should be a great hire for them.

There's certainly an argument that he hasn't done the kind of job developing players that he needed to do in that role. How many talented failures does it look like they've run into? A few years ago, that team looked supposedly loaded, and it seems like only half the guys I can think of are actually still with the team.

Really? It always seemed to me that they'd have success with guys coming out of nowhere, but I guess I never noticed the supposed depth of their system and the failed prospects.

They've had plenty of guys that they've found/stolen (i.e. Coghlan recently), but I can think of guys like their entire trade with Detroit for Cabrera who haven't pulled it off and who they really needed.
