Anyone been teeing it up this summer?

Didn't know where else to post this, so I figured here was as good a place as any.

I know we have some golfers here.

You guys been getting out there at all this season?

Teeing it up today at the Johnny Miller-designed Badlands course here in Vegas. It's going to be 105 out there, but for $19 bucks (including a cart), it's a hell of a course to play.

Warm day out there today.

One of those courses with 3 different 9's.

The first 9 we played was very tight and treacherous. I played very well that 9. Then the second 9 was a more open and traditional type of 9, and I drove the ball well but couldn't hit many solid shots on my approaches and didn't chip or putt well.

Shot 87 with a 42-45.

Could have been a much better day.

This reminded me I need to practice...playing in a tournament Saturday.

Thing I hate most about my golf game:

Have good short game with chipping, terrible long game.

Suddenly, 300 yard drives, horrible chipping. Putting remains awesome.

Why can I not have to good game aspects :(

Yeah, that is golf...it never comes together all at one.

I want yellow pants and sweet cardigans like Graeme McDowell.

Good luck!

I am awful at golf. I don't mean I'm a novice - I mean I'm really bad. I tried playing 1-2 times a week for a while one summer to see if I got any better - my "better" was getting my scores into the 105-110 range (I think 105 is the best score I've ever had). More typically I'll hit 120-130 with a few mulligans. I once hit a drive from the tee that went about 4 yards... STRAIGHT BACKWARDS. Another one went about 6 inches forward, and 4 inches buried into the ground. I have broken the door of an electrical box with a ball I hit. I have hit drives that sliced so badly, they didn't just go onto the next fairway, but they literally went to the next one over from that. I eventually switched from righty to lefty at one point, and was equally as bad.

I gave up golf.

Thats not bad at all to be honest. Thats just a beginner player playing inconsistent. Keep teeing it up, hit the driving range and find what works for you.

Ha, that pretty much sums up my game. I'm not going to lie though, I love it. I've only golfed 3 or 4 times and I've had a blast. I might be the worst golfer on the planet though and that's not an exaggeration.

I've been golfing this summer a lot. You get a lot of good deals in Florida during the summer because no one wants to play in the heat.

I hate how I can hit for distance, but as soon as I get within 90 yards of the green, everything falls apart. I'm pretty good in the sand, but the chipping and lob shots kill me.

Yeah, same thing here in Vegas...you can play pretty much any course outside the absolute top tier for around $20 with a cart if you tee off after 2:00.

Played St. Ives in Michigan two weekends ago and I can say it was the nicest course in the Midwest I have played. Problem was I played with a buddy who shot a gentleman's 162 (I was reading CNN on my Blackberry between my shots, it got so boring). I would never play with him again but he got us a great deal to get on the course because his frat brother works there.

iamshuck, I have played Royal Links, Shadow Creek, Bali Hai and Revere at the Anthem in the past 18 months. Any fun courses you could recommend? My buddies and I head out to Vegas a couple times a year. We're headed back in August but won't play (too hot). Possible later this year we will though.

Steve, there are a million courses out this way to play. I don't even know where to begin...

Bear's Best is pretty awesome...Badlands is cool....but I am relatively new to the area myself, so my best guess would just be to do some researching online.
