chw42
Throughout the game today, I wasn't really worried about losing the game. Well, maybe I sorta was, but I had the thought in the back of my mind that they would come out on top somehow. I guess winning 10 in a row will do that to you. When Cashner threw the first 98 MPH fastball to Konerko, I thought Paulie was going to clobber that thing. Soon enough, he did hit one. Don't throw fastballs to Konerko, he's been the best fastball hitter in all of baseball this year. Edited June 27, 2010 by chw42

greg775
I loved Grace's comment after Paulie swung through a fastball for strike 2, "what's my name?". Paulie's reply, I don't give a F*** what your name is, good bye. That's funny they posed with the Cup tonight with a game left in the series. What did the above quote mean? I am slow and can't understand the meaning. Great win. Freddy ... nice job again. Only four hits and we win. That's always nice. Good bullpen work again. Great bullpen work again actually. Still can't get over winning with four hits. So nice. I didn't get the game here in KC. Sucked. Paulie is so clutch it's scary. Great year and career. whtsoxfan
1983 comparisons... When your #5 pitcher is your best pitcher, and the other 4 is pitching lights out, combined with Greg Walker's lifeless offense is good enough to go all the way. Freddie is way better than Jerry Koosman. If our pitching remain steady all year, which rotation would you rather have?? Hoyt/Dotson/Burns/Bannister or Peavy/Danks/Buerhle/Floyd?? Wanne
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 26, 2010 -> 09:04 PM) Miguel Cabrera, Justin Morneau, Kevin Youlkilis are all locks. Billy Butler will probably be there due to the despicable rule of requiring at least one player from each team (although Soria could be that guy). One of Vlad/Ortiz will be there. I can easily see PK being left off and Tex making the team. Unless Paulie gets a substantial bonus for being in the all-star game....I doubt he gives a s*** and would appreciate the time off. greg775
Was it over when the Astros were 15-30? I remember saying that in one of those "I give up" threads. I then went on to say that it was pretty much over. Man I wish I took that last line back, I'd be looking that much smarter. I remember reading that post and wondering if we could be like that Astro team? My answer was no way because this team had no offense capable of beating anybody. So at least you made some of us think. I remember at the time thinking you must be a pretty good, optimistic fan to bring up the Stros of that year. Great year and career. the dude out of the bullpen (ironically i don't remember his name) threw a fastball letter high right by Konerko. Mark Grace made a cocky comment about how the youngster challenged Konerko and beat him. The next pitch was a carbon copy, and Paulie sent it into the stands.
