knightni
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 10:08 PM) Scott Podsednik gets no love? If anything, he's been over-loved.
iamshack
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 08:08 PM) Scott Podsednik gets no love? He has to be the historical leader
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:09 PM) If anything, he's been over-loved. Other than the early season cock-stroking by a few members of the board, I'd say Podsednik has hardly been "over-loved."
mr_genius
for 2005 i would have gone with Marte
Kalapse
QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:13 PM) for 2005 i would have gone with Marte Or Vizcaino. You don't earn a nickname like jizzcaino from a fan base that embraces your presence.

GoodAsGould
Id have to take Brian Anderson off your list because he didnt really play that much and he had a lot of people who were big fans as well. Id also take out Koch because unlike the others on the list he would always admit he sucked which took off some of the hate. Erstad definitely for 07. knightni
Yes but there's nothing like seeing Timo in the lineup, batting 3rd and playing 1st base to get you all warm and fuzzy.
WCSox
QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) 2010: Mark Kotsay Teahen gives Kotsay a run for his money.
GoodAsGould
QUOTE (WCSox @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:22 PM) Teahen gives Kotsay a run for his money. It's not even close, the only way Teahen would have a shot is if Kotsay gets cut in the near future.

MiddleCoastBias
I know you said 2007 you said take your pick-- I definitely say Andy Gonzalez and his .864 fielding% at 3B. 9 errors in 66 chances? *shudder*

chw42
QUOTE (The Baconator @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) I know you said 2007 you said take your pick-- I definitely say Andy Gonzalez and his .864 fielding% at 3B. 9 errors in 66 chances? *shudder* He had a -11.2 UZR fielding the ball that year. He was also worth -2.2 wins.
Steve9347
QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:09 PM) If anything, he's been over-loved. I over-loved the s*** out of Pods.

bmags
QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 03:24 AM) 2008- Juan Uribe Not after Crede got hurt. Uribe got a lot of love for that turn around and his great play at 3b. I was sad to see him go after realizing his versatility, but not that sad. knightni
2006 should include Rob Makowiak. The two-headed CF monster was brutal.
greg775
My opinions of the whipping boys you stated. ... 2002: Most of the starting staff: I can't remember those guys. 2003: Billy Koch: He deserved all criticism. Total hack. 2004: Timo Perez: I didn't get worked up over such a non factor. 2005: Timo Perez: See above. 2006: Brian Anderson: He was such a bad hitter it was sad more than mad. 2007: Take your pick 2008: Nick Swisher: I despised him. he sucked as a Sox. 2009: DeWayne Wise: I worshiped him. 2010: Mark Kotsay: Don't like him a bit. I thought Garland took a lot of heat on here. Also, Pods, Bobby Jenks, Liney (deservedly so) and Randy Williams (deservedly so). Erstad also was horrible and deserved the criticism but he also was so bad you almost felt sad for him.
bmags
you know, were'nt people more pissed at ozzie in 2006 for playing mack in CF? I probably could misremember a lot of posts from 4 years ago, but it's like hating...i guess vizquel...they were great if you played them as the super utility bench guy, but not when you play them every day, especially mack in his worst position probably, you expose why they are utility guys.
