Nobody...

Ben Badler:

MAYBE NEXT YEAR

These teams don't appear to be competing for any of the big-name prospects, and it's possible they won't hand out a single six-figure bonus this summer.

Chicago White Sox: The White Sox' Latin American program is in need of renovations. The farm system is lacking in Latin American prospects, and the organization has not been mentioned in connection to any prospect in conversations leading up to July 2. The firing of former director of player personnel Dave Wilder in the wake of a federal investigation around allegations of bonus skimming has severely set back the franchise in Latin America.

Not surprising but still disappointing. Hopefully they can sort themselves out for next years bumper crop of IFA's.

Is there anybody in our network of organizational contacts who can shed some light on what our latin american plan is going forward?

Laumann, maybe?

Seems like it would be a good topic for an interview/article.

I don't profess to be an expert on baseball organization strategy but appears for an organization to be successful, it needs to find a perfect balance between stat-based scouting and game scouting, as well as building from within and through free agency. And further in the building from within, an organization needs to complement it's draft haul with Latin American (world, too) free agents. In a league where more and more players are from Latin America, the Sox continue to ignore that entire demographic with the exception of the rare signings like Alexei and Dayan.

Its sad how much we financially ignore our farm system. You don't invest cash, you don't get results.

You are being penny wise and pound foolish. They are saving the money for the Major League free agent class of 2013. They need to sign Jamie Moyer, Vlad Guerrero and Chipper Jones for their last seasons. The team will need the leadership.
