If they take 2/3 I'll start believing this team has a chance. If not that 11 game streak really helped us in our journey to get a mid-round pick in the draft instead of a higher one...

I do Doc....that was a special day...my buddy and I went to the bar at 6:30 am to watch the USA/Slovenia game and were drunk for mid-day baseball games. Had to have some reason to watch the Reds/A's and the Nats/Royals game...:)

This feels like a series where we could get the living s*** beaten out of us. I'm praying that's not the case. Hopefully, our pitching shows up long enough for Konerko and Rios to bail our asses out of any fire the rest of our s***ty lineup creates.

After looking at this lineup up and down, we need a lot more help than just 1 bat. This offense would still suck if we just added Dunn or Fielder.

As for Freddy, whether we are in it or not, I'd be more than willing to trade him for a decent prospect. Some team in bad need for pitching would probably give up something decent for him, and while he has been solid for us, he shouldn't be considered a key piece of the rotation if we make a run for it or not. The only way we are gonna make a run for a playoff spot is with the front 4. If the front 4 don't preform, it won't matter what the f*** Freddy does.

You're absolutely correct on the bat thing. We need a guy like DeJesus up top.

It does feel that way. I can't imagine outscoring Texas in any of the games. Sweep for Texas.

They are in a bad position if they don't get the whole series in this weekend. They don't share many days off. Basically, the Sox would have to go to Texas on September 13 during their own homestand, or not until the end of the season if necessary.

It's a steady rain - and a break for about 20-30 minutes, then another hard rain after that. But with the sun going down, it might dry out a bit.

what's the forecast like for the whole weekend with Alex lurking around?

For those who don't read the FutureSox board, first round pick Chris Sale made his debut tonight. He pitched the 8th out of the Dash bullpen. Got a pop out, ground out, walk (after being ahead 1-2) and a ground out. Fastball sat 93-94.

cool, it's true they want to move him along quickly, correct?

Also, TB leading Minn 1-0 mid 5th

Encouraging! His BB/K ratio sucks though. Trade him.
