fathom
Anyone see Tillman pitch in the majors this year? He looked awful, fastball was in the 90-91 mph range.
BearSox
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 01:39 PM) Anyone see Tillman pitch in the majors this year? He looked awful, fastball was in the 90-91 mph range. I saw a brief bit and he did not look like a top prospect at all. I believe I saw him in the futures game a year or two ago, and he didn't look impressive then either. Ozzie Ball
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 07:39 PM) Anyone see Tillman pitch in the majors this year? He looked awful, fastball was in the 90-91 mph range. He's one of those guys whose stuff mysteriously disappears as he reached the Majors. Similar to Homer Bailey amongst many others. It may be that his stuff was always overrated in the minors, or it could be something mental. I also think the Orioles do a horrible job developing players. flavum
Jordan Danks got on twice. Everyone else...nothing. Nice start for Tillman.
SoxAce
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 04:19 PM) Jordan Danks got on twice. Everyone else...nothing. Nice start for Tillman. Threw a one hitter. Very ironic Danks was the only one who figured him out. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 01:45 PM) I also think the Orioles do a horrible job developing players. No they don't.. it isn't just you. BearSox
Solid start for Hudson, but Tillman was a lot better. Hudson seems to be throwing a lot of pitches this season, leading to him only going 5 or 6 innings per outing... I wouldn't be surprised if he is trying to be too fine instead of just pitching. But that's a huge concern for him at the major league level.

Might be, unless they are specifically having Hudson work on something. Like, get ahead in the count, then try to do X. He is still developing, and they may be working on specific pitches with him.
