Boxing fan?

Nope.

It's a kind of obscure pull from Memorial Day 2008 against the Angels CQ hit's 2 Homers including a walk-off bomb on Sunday night on ESPN and that's what Joe Morgan called him

The way he is hitting (and that defensive gem he made yesterday) he is comming back to becomming "THE" CQ.

It's funny because that "gem" showed just how awkward he is in RF. He took basically the worst route imaginable to get to that ball.

I saw that play and I thought "Wow... he's going to get himself killed out there". It was a great catch, but did it need to be? Would a better right fielder have made that play a lot easier?

I wonder how Quentin would react to being made the permanent DH? Maybe Jones gets DFAd and De Aza is made the starting right fielder with Quentin taking the DH spot...

Rios makes that one look easy, catching it in stride at a moderate pace.

It was still an outstanding play or "recovery." Obviously noone talked about the defensive route nor should, but that was still a great play to make even though his route wasn't very good. Haters gonna hate, and that is not surprising with you.

Yes, because I'm a "hater". It was a Sammy Sosa special: do everything wrong until the last second then fall down/dive and make the play. It's like watching Nate McLouth in CF; that dude makes an inordinate amount of diving catches, unfortunately it's because he's getting to the ball late, this won him a gold glove much like Quentin's ability to make moderately difficult plays look impossibly hard have won him Hawk's heart. Jermaine did the exact same thing with high flyballs to the track, lucky for us I don't think Quentin's nearly as bad as Dye.

He took a bad angle to the ball, but it was a frozen rope basically right over his head on a night in which the wind was howling. I tend to side with the great play side of it moreso than the bad angle one.

Don't get me wrong, it was not an easy play, it just wasn't nearly as difficult as he made it seem.

Any play made in the first 4 innings yesterday was sensational, as that sun was BRUTAL!

Yeah, 6:05 games this time of year are just not a good idea, I forgot to mention that point as well.

Dude, stop hating. You heard ace, didn't you? Hawk himself said that it was one of the greatest plays you will ever see a right fielder make.

And as you know I'm sure, Hawk has never been known to be hyperbolic before. ;)
