StatManDu
Johan Santana homered and pitched a complete game shutout for the Mets on Tuesday night. The last time that happened for the Sox was on Aug. 2, 1969 when Gary Peters went deep and limited the Tigers to six singles in a 5-0 win in Detroit. elrockinMT
QUOTE (StatManDu @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 03:02 PM) Johan Santana homered and pitched a complete game shutout for the Mets on Tuesday night. The last time that happened for the Sox was on Aug. 2, 1969 when Gary Peters went deep and limited the Tigers to six singles in a 5-0 win in Detroit. Now you know Gary Peters was a real good hitting pitcher. In fact I believe it was Eddie Stanky who actually batted Peters like #6 in the Sox lineup becasue he was considered a better hitter than the posiiton players usually hitting 7th-8th or 9th for the Sox back in about the 67-68-69 seasons.
