Does anyone know? Here's a general article on insurance. http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/article/120793

If the Sox bought insurance, it will give them more flexibility to take on money at the deadline. It would also mean the Sox are protected if Peavy can't come back from his injury next year.

I'm pretty sure they have insurance on everyone.

Or at least everybody that's under a multi-year contract. They would be insane to not insure a pitcher who they owe over $60M to.
