harfman77
Pedro seems to be nearly ready to compete this year, and with the injury to Peavy the Sox could use another arm. While he isnt what he used to be, he could be a pretty good 4 or 5 pitcher for the Sox and would not cost anything in the way pf prospects. I am not sure KW will be able to make any deals now that most of his major trade chips are on the ML roster, so I think he will have to look to unconventional means to shore up the team for the stretch run. I would like to see him bring in Delgado on a minor league deal as well just to see if he has anything left. Bringing in Pedro would allow KW to make Hudson available again if he can add another bat. I don't see Kenny acquiring Pedro without some sort of decent backup plan. Therefore I don't see Hudson going anywhere under that scenario. I'm surprised that this hasn't been mentioned already. I hadn't even thought of it. Maybe it's worth a try. I don't think the Phillies are interested anymore. Pedro strikes me as sort of a prima donna. He'll probably ask for way to much and I don't know how dependable he'll be. What about Jarrod Washburn? Isn't he still out there? Does he have anything else left? Edited July 14, 2010 by Chet Kincaid

I'd rather sign Jarrod from the Subway commercials.

Where did you read this? This article states the exact opposite, from his own agent and GM Ruben Amaro Ruben Amaro Jr. said before tonight's All-Star Game that he spoke yesterday with Martinez's agent, Fernando Cuza, in the lobby of their hotel in Anaheim. He asked Cuza what Martinez has been doing lately. Cuza told him that Martinez still has not thrown off a mound. Cross Martinez off the Phillies' list of potential pitching help for the second half. Last season Martinez had been on the mound ... "A lot," Amaro said. "From the WBC on. They're different circumstances. He had thrown all the way up until now. He hasn't gotten on a mound. Only Pedro could say when he'd be ready. I'm sure he knows, but I couldn't tell you." Pedro hasnt even thrown off a mound this year, how do you figure he is almost ready?
