hometeamfan
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 08:06 PM) So the following batters where he preceded to give up six runs are meaningless in this discussion, right? How about the counts where he had two strikes on a guy and couldn't put him away? They pay the position players to make those plays on squibblers! It makes all the difference to a pitcher when he has to face that 4th 5th 6th 7th out of the inning.....
southsideirish71
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 08:05 PM) He sure had nothing while retiring 5 of the first 6 hitters, including one that should have been an out. Every pitch is up, he has no command of his secondary pitchers and cannot command or control his arsenal. Whether or not he pitched well over his first 5 batters says nothing about the fact that Slowley has to step over puddle of urine on the mound right now. Danks could of minimized the damage. GoodAsGould
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) Well said. He's an embarrassment to the profession. While Hawk can be tough at times, if you dont like him its hard to call you a wsox fan.

ChiliIrishHammock24
Ahh....I remember back in ST when I said Q should be DHing and Andruw Jones in the OF, and everyone came back with "He is a better RF than a LF, and he can't handle DHing", blah blah blah. I told you so.

macsandz
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) it's just weird the amount of strange s*** that goes down whenever they play the twins Oh, please. Stop feeding into that BS. It wasn't strange. It was a terrible read and even worse pitching.

ThunderBolt
QUOTE (hometeamfan @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 09:08 PM) They pay the position players to make those plays on squibblers! It makes all the difference to a pitcher when he has to face that 4th 5th 6th 7th out of the inning..... It's a pitchers job to pitch himself out of jams. It doesn't matter whether he created them or not. The Twins didn’t suddenly get six runs in a vacuum there were circumstances outside of one bad play by Q that contributed to it. macsandz
Did anybody else suspect that Danks was gonna have a tough time when the ump didn't grant the bottom of the zone to Slowey in the 1st inning? Danks has to have his low zone or his change-up is nullified and he becomes an average pitcher at best.
