caulfield12
Putz has been almost as good as Politte/Hermanson in 2005. That's something like 24 appearances in a row without giving up a run. Edited July 18, 2010 by caulfield12

Vance Law
Beckham batting a cool .706 over his last 5 games. Batting average, not OPS.

caulfield12
I wouldn't mind a run or two here and Putz staying in the game.
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 03:54 PM) J4L, you see the Pirates finally homered with a man on? No, I didn't. But that's mind-boggling that they went that long.
Vance Law
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 03:52 PM) Yep, and I predict he'll be our closer in 2011. Sure makes some sense. You'd hope he could be had for less than what Jenks would make in arb., and is a good bet to be the better pitcher, as he's been this year. fathom
QUOTE (Vance Law @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) Sure makes some sense. You'd hope he could be had for less than what Jenks would make in arb., and is a good bet to be the better pitcher, as he's been this year. And he'll want to stay here due to Thornton. Quin
QUOTE (Vance Law @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) Sure makes some sense. You'd hope he could be had for less than what Jenks would make in arb., and is a good bet to be the better pitcher, as he's been this year. I'd wish I could keep both. But right now, I'd keep Putz over Bobby.

fathom
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) Are we sure JJ won't want to chase bigger closer money elsewhere? I think he will, and we'll give it to him. 2 yr, 12 mil? He'd be cheaper than Jenks.
caulfield12
Apparently Scott Baker had to get a cortisone shot in his elbow. Just hope the Indians can keep up their hot play of late in Minnesota, Laffey versus Baker tomorrow night. Let's go Jenks, these 3 run leads make you nervous, it's almost a given he will bring the tying run to the plate.
