Someone had been getting into Chase's fb account before I left for VA, i changed his password. Well ...this morning I was checking his email for him and noticed that someone has requested a password change. They tried to hack so many times that it temporarily deactivated his account ..i fixed it though, so that's all good!! I was able to get their IP address from FB and I have googled it and tracked it to a computer in Taft, CA. (that's where we live) ..It wouldn't give me any more specific details than that ..I was wondering if anyone can tell me how it would be possible to track this person (pretty sure I know who it is, just need proof), and make them accountable for this immature behavior!? PLEASE HALP!!

You can. I would recommend you go directly to their internet provider with the information you have and tell them your story. That is in violation of their service agreements and they can have them terminated. You could also contact the police if you believe that some more malicious is going on. It is next to impossible to find out exactly who it is without at least going through their service provider though.

In my opinion, I'd tell your fiance to just deactivate the account for a while. The last thing you need is someone to hack into his FB and start posting ridiculous statements that will get him recognition on deadspin, etc. Hacked or not, that's not the notoriety he needs.

Btw, if it is from the same city that you're in, I'd guess it's fairly likely that it's someone you know, or at least know indirectly.

The ideas given at the beginning of the thread to hold the person responsible are good, but I tend to agree with fathom's idea of deactivating the account for a while. Not only could the person do something stupid that gets Chase infamous on deadspin or whatever even though Chase himself didn't do it, but it could also get him in trouble with the White Sox organization. Better safe than sorry, and Chase could always just make a new facebook page and keep it hidden from the hacker with privacy settings and such.

Does she happen to be a friend of either of yours on facebook or something along those lines, such that if you wanted to you could casually put up a message that she'd be likely to read?

 

For example, you could put up a status update saying "Someone tried to hack into Chase's facebook account today. Ugh, but we've got the IP address and we're going to refer it to law enforcement".

Alright ...here's the low down!! haha

 

She used to be a friend of both of ours on facebook, but we've had some issues with her mother messaging Chase and telling him that she wishes he and ..we'll call her, female!! haha ..any way, telling him that she wishes he would be with female and that she would love him to be her son in law (she already knew we were engaged when she did this) ..then after that, "female" was messaging me and telling me big fat lies. She works at a local tanning salon (the one I go to) ..my mother in law to be, also goes there ..I guess she doesn't know that I see Chase's mother EVERY DAY, she probably assumed I don't since Chase isn't here ...she was talking about me to Rori and of course, Rori told me everything because she loves me to pieces!! LOL ..I confronted the girl, and she lied her face off!! She thinks I'm psycho and controlling ..she can't fathom the thought that Chase excluded her from his life on his own ..she thinks I made him do it ..pfff WHATEVER!! ..I don't blame her for not admitting it to me though ..she's a little 4' 10 and I am a thicky thick girl standing at 5'8" ...

 

... Her best friend is also the best friend of one of my little sisters and has been since they were like, 10. Recently I noticed that she deleted me from FB but still had Chase, she and Chase do not speak and only ever have because of the other female. When I told Chase that this girl deleted me, he had me delete her from his as well. She had to be snooping around for him to notice that she had been deleted because 2 days later she requested him back and asked him why he deleted her. Then she and I got into it, she thought I was the one who told him to delete her and told me to grow up ..then I went OFF!! I'm considerably more intelligent than this girl and basically made her feel like a complete moron ..I have had zero trouble from her since ..BUT all of this (someone being on his FB and the drama), happened around the same time.

 

Like I said before (i think!!) these 2 girls are the only people besides Chase and myself that have ever had his password. They helped him make his FB a couple years back and he has had the same password since then.

 

That is why I suspect them!! ...I don't think it's beyond them to do something like this AT ALL! I wouldn't put it past female's mother either!!

It's never going to happen ..I have to consider Chase's image in all that I do ..BUT, you all know that I have 3 little sisters that wouldn't hesitate to take up for their big sis!! One of them (the one who's picture I've posted on here before, Kayla), was in the Army ...and she has a horrible temper, so she would most likely be the one to snap on the girl!! LOL

 

If that should ever happen, I'm sure Kay would consider jello! LOL ..she likes the attention!

Sounds like simply changing the password would be enough in this situation. The girls don't seem intelligent enough to hack into his account.

They aren't smart enough ...when you try too many times with the wrong password, it locks your account up and alerts you in your email ..they didn't have his email addy, but I do, so I am the one who got the "password change attempts" emails ..they even tried to get facebook to give them his password!!

 

LOL she's a complete retard huh? I love her, she's way funny to be around ..probably like the most eccentric girl I know, but very book smart.
