Balta1701
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 12:40 PM) At what point does the organization give Alexei a new contract? It's entirely possible that in a year or two they'll start thinking about drafting a replacement as well.
Real
Keep in mind with all your alexei koolaid that he takes the first month and a half of the season chasing butterflies and not hitting
southsider2k5
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 07:51 AM) He could be working with him in practice and giving him pointers? And maybe Alexei feels more comfortable and/or confident with Vizquel there instead of someone like Teahen or Viciedo who he feels he has to try and cover for? I think he is finally getting the mental approach more than any actual physical stuff that Omar could teach him. I mean I am sure there are little things, but you can tell that Alexei is growing into the game more than anything. That was always his problem. greg775
Keep in mind with all your alexei koolaid that he takes the first month and a half of the season chasing butterflies and not hitting I'm still waiting for you to tell me who you like in baseball? A Rod? Pujols? Is there a perfect player? Alexei starts horribly. He is playing f***ing great baseball right now. As he continues to age can he actually work on starting out of the gate better? Can he figure out a way to not completely suck in April/May? Hopefully. It is possible. Not everybody is a f***ing finished product. Who do you want to be our shortstop the next 10 years? Balta1701
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 02:49 PM) Who do you want to be our shortstop the next 10 years? I'd expect there's a good chance that our SS 9-10 years from now hasn't finished high school yet.
greg775
They beat the Mariners...hooray Sounding like the Randy Quaid fan of the Indians in Major League. If Lexi is the age he's listed at, he could easily be our shortstop for 10 years or more. Edited July 21, 2010 by greg775
ScottyDo
QUOTE (Real @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 03:11 PM) Keep in mind with all your alexei koolaid that he takes the first month and a half of the season chasing butterflies and not hitting I actually don't think that 3 years is enough of a trend to believe that firmly. I don't even count the first year in the trend because he had freshly immigrated at that point and would likely have struggled no matter what. And 2 years is not enough of a trend to convince me. If he does it again next year, I'll start scratching my head.
