JPN366
For Angel Pagan maybe?
ChiliIrishHammock24
You had me all excited that we actually traded him to the Mets.
greg775
Mets fans should immediately boycott all games if their GM acquires Linebrink. It's hard to imagine a worse pitcher than he. Except Randy Williams, of course.
Balta1701
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 02:42 PM) Mets fans should immediately boycott all games if their GM acquires Linebrink. It's hard to imagine a worse pitcher than he. Except Randy Williams, of course. I think you're underestimating the awfulness of the back end of most team's bullpens. heirdog
Could it be Jenks? He has the stuff (or the legend of "stuff"), is overpriced and not having a particularly strong season (some national attention was given to his possible demotion on two occassions). I think Linebrink is having a non-descript or based on the last 2 years, a typical Linebrink season.
witesoxfan
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 12:47 PM) For Angel Pagan maybe? Angel Pagan has put up a .305/.356/.476/.832 line over the last 2 seasons with 14 homers, 41 doubles, 17 triples, and 37 stolen bases (vs 13 caught stealing, so he's at 74%) while playing good defense. Angel Pagan is a damn fine player. In one word: no.
harfman77
QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) I think you guys are overlooking the bolded part above. Unless the scouts name is Kelly Linebrink, who the hell in their right mind would like this guy?? I think that a move back to the NL would serve Linebrink better than staying in the AL. Pitching at Citi field or whatever it is called is a lot different than pitching in the Cell and his arm is well rested for the stretch run. The scouts may take those factors into account or may think that he needs a change of venue or confidence boost to be successful. It may be that is not the case, but when looking for overpaid and underperforming relievers that have had previous success it is hard to look past Liney. I think Jenks still has too much value to this team to be considered especially if you are only really clearing salary in return.
