ThunderBolt
Pretty sure this makes Jayson Nix a full-time starter for them. So... that's kind of cool.

Jordan4life_2007
This actually scares me in the sense that if this is the best the Tigers can do considering all the injuries they've had, it makes you wonder what we can legitimately do? southsider2k5
If they wanted a crappy third baseman, we could have just sent them Teahen.
Knackattack
Indians actually got something back, 2009 1st round pick, lefty, wow. Something like an 8.3 k/9 too. Edited July 28, 2010 by Knackattack

bigruss
Well, that is not what I expected the Tigers to do. I still see another, bigger, move coming from them.
Balta1701
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) Well, that is not what I expected the Tigers to do. I still see another, bigger, move coming from them. They're plummeting so fast right now that they need several moves to really hang with the 2 guys at the top, given all the injuries they've had. The White Sox have a significantly better offense than the Tigers on the season right now.

Well...they are only 5 games out of the division, they have Cabrera's career year probably going on right now, they clearly have an owner who doesn't want to throw in the towel, and they have some young kids who are having ridiculous seasons. There's plenty of reason to keep going.

They are missing so much of their core, not to mention they have soooo many free agents coming up, they need to see if they can find guys who can save next year, instead of having to put all of your eggs into the free agent basket. Balta1701
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) They are missing so much of their core, not to mention they have soooo many free agents coming up, they need to see if they can find guys who can save next year, instead of having to put all of your eggs into the free agent basket. Part of the reality of having SOOOO many free agents on their team to replace for them is that pretty much every one of the guys they need to replace is heavily overpaid. Ordonez, Bonderman, Willis, Damon, Inge, Laird, etc. That's liek $50 million available to spend if they get back to the same amount this year. When you throw in having guys like Boesch, Scherzer, Jackson, and possibly Porcello taking spots as minimum-salary guys out of ST next year, the only reason why they'll be hurting at all next year is if they take a major team salary cut. The White Sox have an awful lot of spots to fill next season also...but they're doing so with about $15 million instead of $50.
