greg775
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) The point is that Manny is replacing Kotsay (hopefully), thus we chant "Man-ny" when Kotsay comes up so he realizes he is about to lose his job. Sounds hilarious to me. I hope it happens. yeah it's always good to embarrass a guy wearing the White Sox jersey. Really productive in mocking our own team while trying to beat the Yankees. Very smart. Oh, so funny as well.
BigSqwert
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 04:24 PM) The point is that Manny is replacing Kotsay (hopefully), thus we chant "Man-ny" when Kotsay comes up so he realizes he is about to lose his job. Sounds hilarious to me. I hope it happens. It actually seems like a douchey thing to do. I'm no fan of Kotsay's but he didn't do anything to deserve that type of treatment from the fans. He tried his best and was put into a position to fail.
macsandz
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) That would be cool if he got booed. It would show me again, Sox fans are the best. Not sheep who just cheer when we are supposed to cheer for the new guy/cheater. I'd say boo him once then have him help us win and cheer his performance but feel dirty doing so. WIN GAMES. It's entertainment. Save the morality and ethics soapbox for yourself and your children.
Harry Chappas
QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 04:20 PM) yea. . this dude will help us if this thing gets done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFucYoAq_YU If you watch that video look at the score of the game it seemed that they were tied or losing when he hit most of his home runs. SoxAce
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 04:23 PM) The cheating is most of it, but I also simply have hated him as a me-first asshole type player. I'm not suddenly going to approve of him just cause he's wearing our jersey. That said, I'll root for us to win with him as Albert Belle was the biggest prick in the history of baseball and I still wanted us to win. See this I can respect. Same with what Balta said earlier, I respect posters who hated Manny before and will still not be a fan of his here but will still cheer for the team to win even if you feel dirty about it. Same with people who hated Bonds and would still hate him if he was here. I can't stand the flip-flop posters. Great post Greg. elrockinMT
We may see manny and then again we may not, but if we do I am guiessing it will also be for 2011. Regardless of the PEDS we have to forgive him if KW does. Long live Frank Thomas though

Same with people who hated Bonds and would still hate him if he was here. I can't stand the flip-flop posters. I don't know how you can watch a guy like Manny Ramirez hit over the course of his career and not respect the guy. I have never found him to be obnoxious like a Barry Bonds or a Curt Shilling, but I can understand how people get tired of his antics. Personally, I have always enjoyed watching him hit. I think he's one of the most talented hitters of the modern era, and I would absolutely love to get to see him hit in our uniform for the remaining 30-odd games left, and hopefully into the postseason. That would be better and kind of funny. Still might not be so good if we are losing or it's a close game. Ozzie might laugh. Or he could flip off the crowd which could finally cost him his job.
