whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) No Jake Peavy = need for starting pitching. How is this so hard to comprehend? Because Edwin Jackson sucks, costs a lot of money, and doesn't fill that need with the way he's pitching right now.

Soxbadger
I love how there is no chance that Jackson is able to harness his stuff and turn it around. Ill go with Cooper, KW's and my opinion. Jackson can be fixed and hopefully he will be. And Jackson costs a lot of money NEXT YEAR, this year he is relatively cheap. The guy has the ability, and his talent level is unquestioned. Hes only 26, maybe a change of scenery and being in a pennant race will get him back on track.

"You can easily grab a Luke Scott, Adam LaRoche for giving up next to nothing." Did you mean to say we could've easily gotten one of Scott/LaRoche for next to nothing? That obviously isn't the case. Frank_Thomas
MLB network still has not mentioned Dunn or the sox. Something is fishy, I think we landed Dunn. Turn on the score stuff might be gettig close. Rongey on at
CWSOX45
QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) When will people understand that money isn't an issue. Every time someone complains about money, the White Sox add more payroll. Dude I'm telling you, you're not going to win this. If we had traded for Dunn and given up one of the "Prophets" (prospects) they would have criticized Kenny for giving up too much.

whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) When will people understand that money isn't an issue. Every time someone complains about money, the White Sox add more payroll. We're not the Yankees. 8 million dollars next year for a guy that isn't very good as your 4th starter (and giving up one of your very few prospects to acquire it) is a really bad move. If Jackson pitches well and gets us into the playoffs, then it's only just a bad move. That's the ceiling for this trade, a bad move. Which is why I don't like it. gatnom
QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) When will people understand that money isn't an issue. Every time someone complains about money, the White Sox add more payroll. Because it is in issue when you're not the New York Yankees. The Sox had a TON of money coming off the books when they acquired Peavy and Rios. Don't even try to pretend like this is a similar situation. Maybe KW's plan is to have Coop fix him and then turn around and deal him to fill in holes next season, I don't know. But, money is very much so an issue. And if all these bats could be had cheaply, why didn't KW get them?
Rowand44
QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:19 PM) Waiver Wire Trades. August 30th. Understand now? If Scott or Laroche could have been had for cheap it would have already happened so you're making no sense. And the only chance we have to get Laroche now is if the DBacks literally want nothing in return which just isn't the case.

Chisoxfn
I want Dunn without Jackson. I've decided if we keep Jackson and get Dunn without giving up our major league contributors we have a good shot at the series.

Soxbadger
Good for Kenny. Dayan may never be a stud, but everything im seeing right now makes me like his future potential. Giving him and Jackson up (2 players under 27 with potentially tremendous upside) would have been devastating for a few months of Dunn. whitesoxfan101
Well it looked like we got caught with our pants down last year on the Rios thing, and that's worked out well. It appears we got caught with our pants down again on Edwin Jackson, guess we'll have to hope this works out well too.
