BigSqwert
Is there any way that Omar can actually help Dayan be a serviceable 3B? He seems to have been a positive influence for Alexei. Maybe we can sign him to be a player/coach next year and spend extra time working with the Tank. CaliSoxFanViaSWside
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 12:09 PM) f*** it. Throw Teahen on the waiver wire and be done with it. hell no Teahen>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kotsay.
whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 02:12 PM) I think Teahen is actually a really good option for our needs...Vizquel for defense and lineup balance, Viciedo beats up LHP, Teahen hits RHP better than Viciedo, Teahen can be useful in corner OF as well as 3b/DH. It's really the perfect setup for a rotating DH...several old guys, several guys who fit a platoon well. Yep, it's the exact setup Ozzie wants once Teahen returns if he just DFA's Kotsay. Of course, we're the White Sox though, so it probably won't work out that simply.

I think the reality is...there's only so much time in the day. Our goal was to get him ready with the bats, because that's his job. You put him in AAA for 3 years and tell him to focus on being a 3b, he'll probably be a decent 3b, with that cannon he has covering up for some of his mistakes. But...you don't exactly want to waste his bat for several years.
BigSqwert
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) Dayan is a future 1B/DH as far as I'm concerned. So I guess we are stuck with Teahen and his putrid D at 3rd. *sigh*

I could live with his bat over there overall if he didn't have a garbage can lid for a glove.

iamshack
We should platoon Carlos and Dayan at DH, let Jones and Teahen platoon in RF, keep Lilli on the bench, and tell Kotsay to catch Threets' turf toe for a few weeks til the rosters expand... justBLAZE
We've been over this so many times, yet some posters are still wondering... Mark Teahen can do everything Mark Kotsay can and he can do it better. (except groundouts to 2B) Edited August 3, 2010 by justBLAZE
