EvilJester99
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 07:25 PM) Really, it's very, very difficult to totally disconnect those. Not really.. he has done it thus far right?
rafacosta
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) And half of the outs were on hangers. I didn't mention the bad defense behind him.
Thad Bosley
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 07:25 PM) Very nice AB by Beckham. Come on Ozzie, put a play on. +
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (dielac @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 07:11 PM) 6 hits one game.. Carlos Pena? Good call.
iamshack
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 07:24 PM) How many hits does he have to give up in 4 innings before you agree he looks bad? Ok, this is where I draw the line. You just want to be right, Balta, because you hate this trade. The guy has given up some hits but also has produced a bunch of dp balls. He has walked no one. He isn't pitching badly, but he's been lucky to keep them off the board.
EvilJester99
So far Jackson has been effectively wild... not great but good enough so far.

He hasn't even been wild. He has 44 of 58 pitches for strikes.
fathom
Very nice instincts by Beckham there. Rios has got to avoid the double play here, as that's been his nemsis the last month.

He isn't pitching badly, but he's been lucky to keep them off the board. Really, I'm flat out unimpressed so far. He has a 96 mph fastball but it's been hit a few times and he's only really gotten a couple of pitches that have hurt people. There's very little sink or cut on his fastball. It's straight. The Slider's been very week. He's thrown less than 5 good ones. Cabrera got 2, Peralta got 1. He's stepped up and gotten Cabrera a couple times, I'll grant him that...but every time he's come up there's been people on.
fathom
Wow, Rios with just a terrible effort there. He just isn't close to the same player he was during the first half.
ChiliIrishHammock24
Geez, how many DPs does that give Rios for the past 2 weeks? At least 5 I would think.

SouthsideDon48
0 walks is very encouraging. I'm not gonna be hard on Jackson for all the hits, because half of them were bloop singles and odd bounces.

He's going to give up some hits, but how many balls have been hit hard off him? He's made one huge mistake to Cabrera, but other than that, he's just throwing strikes and putting up zeroes. I'm sorry, but that is not bad.
