chetkincaid
QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 07:45 PM) Does anyone else just love that Heineken commercial where the guy says "wanna learn how to play golf? Play with old guys. These raisins put it down the middle every time. They used to take our money...ever since Terry here slowed down my swing, I've adjusted to a more mature game. Now I'm taking back some of that cheese." Best commercial....like....ever. NO IDEA what you're talking about, but I'll be looking out for it. ThunderBolt
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 08:52 PM) He needs a wipeout offspeed pitch. He just needs to refine his slider and he can get by with two pitches.
ChiliIrishHammock24
77 pitches through 6 IP. At this rate, he could go 12 innings!!....oh wait, this isn't Arizona.
SouthsideDon48
Wow, that inning made me nervous for a sec, I thought both of those flyballs were gonna be homers. I'm really glad it ended up being 3 outs, nice.
iamshack
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 07:52 PM) That was a hard hit ball by Inge. Would have been trouble at the Cell. He needs a wipeout offspeed pitch. Give it up man...
fathom
Jackson continues to do an amazing job throwing his fastball for strike. He hasn't had 3 balls on anyone yet.
Balta1701
Even with that swing by Inge, he's really gotten in a groove the last 2 innings.

Make him a 3-pitch pitcher with that change-up also. Lefties were hitting above .290 this season coming into the game off of him, so he needs something to keep them off-balanced. Balta1701
QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 08:54 PM) Give it up man... How is it you haven't paid any attention to the posts where I've given him credit, but you go after me every time I say something negative about him? I hate the trade too but i can't argue with what Jackson is showing out there. He's a work in progress, and what i'm seeing is legit progress. ChiliIrishHammock24
Danks needs to teach EJax how to hone a change-up. He could be deadly with a great change-up.

Lefties were hitting above .290 this season coming into the game off of him, so he needs something to keep them off-balanced. I bet if you could do double-splits on those you'd find that a lot of the damage lefties did was behind in the count. If he gets ahead of them in the count and rides it upwards like he did to Boesch 2 innings ago they won't have a shot.

Thad Bosley
With Jackson's fastball, and all of the various clubs he's has been with, hasn't the concept of coming up with a change-up come up with him before?
Soxbadger
I dont have any inside information, but id venture a guess that Cooper told Jackson to quit worrying about strike outs and "wipe out" pitches, and to just throw strikes and see if hitters can beat him. Especially with a lead, you make the other team beat you, you dont walk them and beat yourself.
fathom
I'd get Thornton up in the pen in case Damon's up with a few on. You want to have Jackson leave with a good taste in his mouth.
