Balta1701
QUOTE (Sox72 @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 02:33 PM) But how does that affect the approach he takes to the plate? Assuming the other poster is correct in saying he just swings as hard as he can. If he's worn out/not as strong as he used to be, he may just be swinging hard at everything because that's all he can do.

southsider2k5
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 12:57 PM) Very important to win the season series vs. twinkies. Game 163 looms as a realistic possibility. We're 4-7 against them right now (thanks again, Bobby) with 7 more to be decided We talk about individual games, but there is the season right there. If we end up under .500 against Minnesota, we probably don't win the division.
BigSqwert
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 01:54 PM) We talk about individual games, but there is the season right there. If we end up under .500 against Minnesota, we probably don't win the division. So unless we win the next 4 straight against them we likely won't win the division? I disagree. BigSqwert
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 01:56 PM) We have 18 games total against Minnesota. Jerksticks
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 12:13 PM) He's 33 going on 34. It actually makes a lot of sense. He had a great year last year. I don't think it makes any sense.

greg775
QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 08:09 PM) He had a great year last year. I don't think it makes any sense. Kendall is still slapping singles once in a while at the age of 36. Maybe AJ's power is gone and he better turn into Kendall the rest of the way. Only steer singles the opposite way and quit the open stance where he's trying to pull gappers.
CanOfCorn
The heavy air should help Gavin's curve...and beat up the catcher in the process. GO YOU WHITE SOX!
witesoxfan
Catchers don't age well. It's not surprising to see that AJ has regressed as much as he has. The only potential plus out of this is that, because of his struggles this season, he may sign a cheap, 1 year contract with the Sox, and that would allow both him and Flowers to split time at the MLB level next year as the Sox bring Flowers along slowly. BigSqwert
I must say this is somewhat surprising. Figured it would be a little tighter.

Balta1701
Still no castro against the LHP...I'd rather have him at DH instead of Viciedo if AJ hadn't hurt himself last week.
witesoxfan
QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) Not by that much (.45 point difference in OPS). That's pretty significant for a team. .803 team OPS vs RHP, .755 team OPS vs LHP. In comparison, the Sox are at .748 vs both RHP and LHP.
