Jordan4life_2007
I don't even care that we lost tonight. I've come to expect a fisting from the Twins when it counts. But how about Chris f***ing Sale!? This was my first chance to see him. And his stuff is REAL. Made Mauer look like a sissy Mark Kotsay on three pitches. Appears to me that he's got 3+ pitches AND a change, which we didn't get to see tonight. For the love of the devil, KW, do not trade this kid! ThunderBolt
Hey, Chris Sale is going to be a pretty crucial piece when we land Carlos Lee next year. Edited August 19, 2010 by Thunderbolt
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 18, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) Hey, Chris Sale is going to be a pretty crucial piece when we land Carlos Lee next year. "Change of scenery" and "best shape of his life" would be used to describe such a move by KW.

Chris Sale and Dayan Viciedo for Ronald Bellisario, do it.
southsideirish71
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 18, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) Hey, Chris Sale is going to be a pretty crucial piece when we land Carlos Lee next year. I figure Derrick Lee will be here as Ozzie tries to relive 2003. The only one off that team worth having is on the Tigers. So who was good back in 2003, is having a down year or years, and is willing to play for the league minimum. That pretty much is our blueprint. The diamond in the rough theory for building a winner. Perpetually putting temporary band-aids on obvious holes while we continue to be cheap when it comes to the draft and trading away young talent like it's set to expire. southsider2k5
He can't until July of next year. Now can we close this thread?
Rowand44
Obviously we can't trade him for a year anyways but Sale is going to get the Beckham treatment, he wont be going anywhere for a while.

I really like Ozzie but I sincerely hope that when the offseason comes KW tells him to shut the f*** up and manage the players that he gives him. It's the GMs job to pick the players, is it not? No more of this Ozzie ball-aging veteran-man crush on Kotsay bulls***. Edited August 19, 2010 by Chet Kincaid
Rowand44
The thing that seperates Sale from our other top pitching prospects that Kenny has traded away is that Sale is a pure power arm. McCarthy and Huddy weren't the flame throwers that Kenny always has had an infatuation with. Sale will be a member of the White Sox for a while. I know there's other reasons why he wasn't doing the job, but Poreda certainly qualified as a flamethrower.

I'm not sure which part is sarcastic so I'm not sure if this is the appropriate response...but if I'm reading the sarcasm correctly...the appropriate response is that "Dewayne Wise was the leadoff hitter to start the season last year". And yeah, I don't see Sale going anywhere soon. I think the Sox feel lucky to have been able to draft him.
Harry Chappas
Why did Cooper not have Thorton learn other pitches and take speed off his fastball. People need to realize some guys thrive under Cooper and some thrive in the NL. Also the Dewayne Wise thing was all Guillen as well. I get the feeling his input will hold no weight going forward. kitekrazy
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 19, 2010 -> 02:15 PM) Also the Dewayne Wise thing was all Guillen as well. I get the feeling his input will hold no weight going forward. One could say that was Kenny's. You trade an everyday CF for a guy who can only swing a bat. BA fails and there's probably some reasons we will never know why he was in Ozzie's doghouse. So steps in Wise who will be remembered for that catch. To fix the CF hole was a $10M player who has that ? by scouts. Let's not forget that Jerry Owens was suppose to be another guy that was suppose to work out. I know every team has hit and misses with farm talent but from what I've seen is a joke. It's hard to believe they started a season with a guy like Josh Fields at 3rd. Jerry Owens was a fast guy who couldn't get on base.
winninguglyin83
Maybe we can trade him for Daniel Hudson, Gio Gonzalez or Clayton Richard.
Quin
Chris Sale being a flame thrower with a large repertoire of pitches helps him. His breaking ball confuses DJ and Farmio and Mauer too.

Although Sisco really felt more like a "project/suspect" than an established veteran. He had a very good first 3-4 months in his rookie year and struggled mightily from that point on in his aborted career.

He had a very good first 3-4 months in his rookie year and struggled mightily from that point on in his aborted career. And had a very quick surgery. Sisco was used up before he ever got here.
