RockRaines
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 05:55 PM) No not really. Yes you are. You should take a weekend and mark down both the positive decisions and the negative ones that Ozzie makes instead of just pointing out the wrong ones. That is an objective view. I dont think anyone is objective in their overall opinion, so calling out someone who is clearly subjective while you yourself are the same way is kind of defeating the point. Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 06:01 PM) Except BigSqwert actually uses some sort of numbers to back up whatever he posts. greg uses 4 numbers for this: 2005
greg775
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 11:55 PM) No not really. Uh, really. As far as Ozzie/Beckham, what is so hard to believe that the manager is a big key to his turnaround? Uh, most everybody on this board wanted him back in the minors. Ozzie lowered him in the order, but kept him up here, and last night's bomb was beautiful. What a blast. Oz, in fact, is at his best supporting players. That's part of being a manager as well as the sabmermetric crap.
greg775
QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 12:00 AM) Putting him in the 9th spot, even when he has been hitting better, can't be too good on his confidence. Thing is, you and I don't know if Ozzie hitting him 9th is good or bad for him. Hell, nobody truly knows. But from the looks of his numbers since the ASB, moving him up would be a good idea. He can't be getting any good pitches to hit with Juan Pierre behind him. He got a good one to hit last night. Bam.
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 06:13 PM) What does Ozzie's belief in Beckham and support of the kid have to do with 2005? greg, you know me and you are cool. I was messing with you.

BigSqwert
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) Yes you are. I dont think anyone is objective in their overall opinion, so calling out someone who is clearly subjective while you yourself are the same way is kind of defeating the point. It's true that we're all mostly subjective but I'm pointing out an instance where there isn't a single thing that Ozzie can do wrong in someone's eyes. As much as I'd like to see Ozzie go I can admit he is good at certain things like motivating players and deflecting attention or criticism. To Greg, Ozzie is a walking God that could do no wrong and it's frustrating to read on a daily basis. Getting rid of Thome? Not Ozzie's fault. Overusing bench players like Wise and Kotsay? Not Ozzie's fault. Telling fans to f*** off? Not Ozzie's fault. Having Randy Williams lead the staff in appearances for the 1st two months which included important situations? Not Ozzie's fault. The list can go on and on.

But it's controlled drunk. If I was Lindsay Lohan drunk I'd be in the drunk thread talking about anacondas coming up through the toilet through my buttocks. LOL, if I hadnt been stuck in traffic for 2 hours while coming back from Madison I would be drunk too. Instead i took my frustration out on Grant park during a run. Its about time to crack one though.
