NorthSideSox72
Sox haven't faced Matusz before I don't think, but he's a lefty, and this year the Sox have actually done well against guys they haven't seen. MB is rockin' in August and did reasonably well vs BAL earlier this month (3 ER in 7 IP). Let's clinch the series tonight and be in position to sweep. Rios is killing us in the 3 hole. Too early to give up on Rios, but I agree it might help to move him down - problem is, who do you put in the 3rd slot? And I'm glad AJ is moving up the order a bit, he's been hitting better and better in the past couple weeks. I suspect if/when we get Manny, he takes that 3rd slot with Rios going to 5th. Balta1701
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 02:22 PM) Before Manny gets here I'd go with this for the 1st six spots: I've gotten the impression that Konerko has this weird mental thing about the 3 spot. He's hit in the 3 spot over 200 times in his career and his OPS there is over 100 points lower than in the 4 spot.
Greg Hibbard
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 01:16 PM) Rios CF (Last 28 days: .216/.255/.299/.554 with 8 GIDP) Hmm, but he's 17 for his last 65, for a .261 average, and has hit safely in 12 out of his last 15 games. Not much pop, with just 3 doubles and 1 triple, but still...
chw42
The only power hitter who is hitting is Konerko. Let's hope we solve everybody on this Orioles staff the second time around. We did yesterday.
