I went and looked at Final Four appearances over the last ten years and the big ten finishes third among conferences. I'll admit they have done better than I thought but the ACC has by far been the best conference. Every year I do hear people claiming it is the year the Big 10 will win the ACC/Big 10 challenge and they have only won it once. It is not you guys either, usually on here everyone is very knowledgeable outside of a few Illinois fans that just feel Kev and I are out to bring them down for whatever reason. I certainly don't cheer for Illinois and granted I enjoy seeing them lose, but I really don't care what they do. I'm much more concerned with MVC teams.

Not really sure where you pull all this stuff from. You admit most here are pretty knowledgeable and don't make crazy claims about the Big Ten. Have the experts recently? Not from what I can remember. So are you going to message boards of teams, taking the proverbial kool aid guy for the big ten, and using that as your means to make a judgment on what "everyone" thinks? Anyone here can post "every year I hear (fill in the blank)" but that doesn't really prove much in your argument. You can find anything you want on the internet, really.

Heck I would laugh at the Big Ten ACC challenge every time it came up, knowing we'd lose. Minus last year and this year, ACC was usually significantly superior going in, and ended up winning it to prove it.

In the past 9 years, Wisconsin has been in the top 25 to start the season 6 times.

Interesting I would have thought it was slightly less than 50%.

I just consider a team to be overrated if they were constantly rated top 15 or so, and then generally didnt even make the tournament or were out in the first round.

I dont see a team that is ranked in the 20s who makes it to the second round as overrated. The second round game they would likely be an underdog if they were worse than a 5 seed.

No, you just distort the truth to feed your clear bias towards the school.

I would bet on Wisconsin against ANY team in the country if they played in Madison. And I would bet large.

Haha yah Illinois some how always does well in Wisconsin.

Not many teams do if any. Wisconsin is almost unbeatable at home and if you are seeing them for the first time, their offensive sets can drive you nuts.

How in any way is arguing against the Big Ten against other Major conferences feeding a bias towards a school in the Missouri Valley conference? I just said that I constantly hear from friends and others that the Big Ten is going to be the best conference when it has never shook out that way. It has nothing to do with the MVC vs. Big Ten.

a LOT of crazy luck shots from Texas, but Illinois' D so far has been terrible, especially in transition. Horrible first 5 minutes of the 2nd half. Hopefully they can turn it around.

They need to turn it around now, before Texas runs away with it.

here comes the trademark patented Illinois whine: the refs are bailing out Texas. Every f***ing trip. Drive into your defender, get a foul no matter what

This is a mockery of a basketball game.

Every trip is a foul. Both teams are playing bad D, but come on

WTF? Has Illini Board taken over Soxtalk????

Illinois has been incredibly frustrating to watch. I feel like they're clearly more talented and shouldn't be dealing with a tie game right now except they're playing dumb as s***. It doesn't even matter what the refs are calling. If they lose, they have no one to blame but themselves.
