Rowand44
We didn't even give up a run in the 9th!
MattZakrowski
Jackson is a stud, and we got the Rangers coming in hot in the 9th.
BigSqwert
QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 09:53 PM) Hey Balta, was Jackson good enough tonight for ya? That 0.96 ERA in the AL isn't good enough. Man we have found a diamond in the rough! Nice hitting tonight as well. Time to beat the s*** out of the Yankees. greg775
How does Cooper do it? I wonder why no other team has tried to steal him away with money, money, money? He is a mastermind apparently. Jackson sure looks like a future ace if he stays healthy and Coop keeps working with him. I thought the trade was ridiculous, but Jackson looked like the best pitcher in baseball tonight. He overpowered them. That would have been great had Minnie lost. The way Jackson pitched ... he'd have blown the Royals away last week. Sad that West f***ed the Sox and Jackson. Him not pitching in that series may cost us the pennant.

chw42
Let's hope we do more of this against New York.
Jordan4life_2007
Edwin has been simply dominant in four starts. He's going to have to do it against better lineups from here on out. But I've got nothing but praise for him so far. The offense has been pretty damn potent of late.
JohnCangelosi
QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 12:05 AM) Let's hope we do more of this against New York. Problem is we got sweaty Freddie going in game 1 and that makes me nervous, hopefully he can pitch like he did against the Royals- we really need him here with the lack of a pen right now
bigruss
Ill repeat, I like Jackson, I think Coop was the perfect asnwer for him. I just dont like the price we paid for him considering our farm system and finanicial situation.
justBLAZE
Why was the game thread so short? I know people weren't at the game looking at the crowd Anyway great team win, Jax = STUD.
hogan873
Jackson's stuff was nasty. He made a lot of hitters look foolish. The way he started, I expected him to have 15 K's, but 10 is certainly good outing.

NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 09:20 AM) Freddie has done a good a job as any starter we have so IMO it's time to quit being nervous By what measure? The guy has a 5.08 ERA, and of his 23 starts, only 15 are "quality". He's also had 6 starts where he couldn't finish more than 5 innings. He's fine as a #5 starter, but the other 4 guys we have right now have all clearly been better.

I just dont like the price we paid for him considering our farm system and finanicial situation. and the leaked documents to Deadspin kind of show how judging that based on simple factors known to the public may not be the best method. elrockinMT
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) By what measure? He's fine as a #5 starter, but the other 4 guys we have right now have all clearly been better. He has ten wins and has often gone 6 or 7 good innings for us. The ERA jumps when he or any pitcher has a bad game or two and gives up a lot of runs in just a couple innings. That has not happened to Freddie on any consistent basis so overall he has done a commendable job.
