Balta1701
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 08:43 PM) You mean Carlos Silva wasn't one of the more dominant pitchers in baseball when he was 8-0 for the Cubs? You just illustrated my point. Even average pitchers can have dominant stretches.
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:42 PM) That start a week ago has overshadowed how awful he's been lately. Unless you're a blithering, homeristic (not sure that's a word) idiot like Hawk, it's easy to see how bad Pena has been all year. His K/BB rate is 1.19. That's beyond pathetic. Balta1701
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 08:43 PM) trying to get danks the win was a bad ozzie move Trying to get Danks the win? He pulled him once he got people on this inning. Do you really trust this bullpen to hold the Yankees down? If you do, I have a Tony Pena to sell you. ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:42 PM) That's as useless of a definition of a dominant pitcher as you could ever come up with. Has he yet to have an outing that wasn't dominant? 7 IP, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K 6 IP, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K 7 IP, 1 ER, 3 BB, 11 K 8 IP, 0 ER, 2 BB, 10 K Every start was dominant. Therefor, he is a dominating pitcher for us.

ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:43 PM) You mean Carlos Silva wasn't one of the more dominant pitchers in baseball when he was 8-0 for the Cubs? Do you think Silva's 8-0 run proved better than or as good as what Jackson has done so far? If so, then sure, Silva was dominant for the Cubs over that stretch. Harry Chappas
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:44 PM) Trying to get Danks the win? He pulled him once he got people on this inning. Do you really trust this bullpen to hold the Yankees down? If you do, I have a Tony Pena to sell you. Start the inning with a reliever as Danks never had it tonight yet Guillen wanted to get him through five and now Edwin Nunez is having a career day. zenryan
Maybe this will finally stop the playoff ticket advertisements that Hawk reads for every game. Might want to start working on 2011 ticket package advertisements now.

What's sad is the offense has been mashing. But other than Edwin Jackson, which is shocking, we don't have a reliable starter at the moment. fathom
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 29, 2010 -> 01:51 AM) What's sad is the offense has been mashing. But other than Edwin Jackson, which is shocking, we don't have a reliable starter at the moment. Our starters started off year struggling, then had that magical 2 month run. However, it seems they've just hit the wall. That's why our start to this season doomed us, as well as the Twins fantastic play since the ASB. If we got off to a decent start this year, our 26-5 run would have given us a lot more breathing room.
