scenario
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) About Sale or the ranking? The ranking
Ozzie Ball
QUOTE (scenario @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 02:06 AM) The ranking I'm with fathom. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this system ranks #30. It's thin top to bottom.
GoodAsGould
QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) I'm with fathom. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this system ranks #30. It's thin top to bottom. Part of it is because how Beckham and Sale flew through the minors though.
Ozzie Ball
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 03:42 AM) Part of it is because how Beckham and Sale flew through the minors though. I know what happened, but it's not an excuse. Good systems have depth. You can't just rely on your #1 picks.
fathom
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 02:42 AM) Part of it is because how Beckham and Sale flew through the minors though. Sale will count for next year's ranking class.
southsider2k5
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 09:42 PM) Part of it is because how Beckham and Sale flew through the minors though. The crazy thing is Beckham could have just been getting his call up, and it would have still been impressive how quickly he moved through the system. NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 08:03 PM) What about Justin Greene? has struggled at Birmingham but the sox promoted him over Short? and Ciolli? Does he have any chance? Any possibility Gartrell could be a platoon outfielder? Greene is old for his level, but still worth keeping an eye on. Ciolli strikes out a TON. Not a good sign. The org still likes Gartrell last I knew, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's the Sox 4th OF next year.

NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) They should. He bring more to the table. When he can make it through a season intact.
danman31
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 01:44 PM) When he can make it through a season intact. It's hard to assume injuries and it's not like you're talking about penciling in a guy for a starting position. It's likely the last spot on the roster anyway. basebllrcks
QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 09:23 PM) Ok. Second time you've said this now. Are you basing this opinion entirely on the numbers he is putting up as a 21 year old in rookie ball, or is there some glowing scouting report that I've missed? At this point all we've got is what he's done in Great Falls. I can tell you this, he's put up the best stats of any catcher that's been through Great Falls in quite some time. He is the only catcher in the farm system that is the leader on his teams batting stats. He should move up to Kannapolis next year and then we'll see. But right now, he's definately a younger prospect to keep an eye on.
JPN366
Who else thinks Andy Wilkins will be jumped to W-S to start 2011?
JPN366
QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) It's hard to assume injuries and it's not like you're talking about penciling in a guy for a starting position. It's likely the last spot on the roster anyway. I think Gartrell could bring the same kind of power numbers that Andruw Jones does. Although Gartrell is strictly a corner outfielder. daggins
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 12:08 PM) Who else thinks Andy Wilkins will be jumped to W-S to start 2011? Who else would fill that spot? Gac has earned a promotion but he's not really a prospect at this point. I def. could see Wilkins on the Dash to start the season.
