TheBigHurt
Can't hate on Thome . He's just doing what one team was smart enough to pay him to do and one wasn't . *Sigh* Yeah.
chetkincaid
QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 04:24 PM) He just might be the reason Twins win the division when you look at it all. Which is the reason I'm starting to hate him just as much as I hate the other twins.
TheBigHurt
Which is the reason I'm starting to hate him just as much as I hate the other twins. As big a fan as I am, I rarely get visibly angry over a ball game. When Thome hit that walk-off against us, I was FURIOUS.
Frank_Thomas
Me too. That was the lowest point for me this season and in a long time. He kilt that walk off.
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 03:48 PM) Any chance we see Morel as a defensive sub late in the game? I like that lineup as well. I would think so, and hope so, but Ozzie LOVES his Omar.
Swingandalongonetoleft
I've always been of the opinion that Teahen should bat lower in the order than he usually seems to. Why don't you just have Nick Swisher's cardboard cutout bat after Manny?
justBLAZE
If Heads doesn't find his way here to make a thread for second game, I say we use the existing game thread from game one, let's not break the mojo.

hi8is
Anyone know stats for our team and hitters against Beckett? This is all I can find: Beckett is 4-1 for his career against Chicago with a 3.72 ERA. Edited September 5, 2010 by hi8is

kwolf68
Watching Jim thome hit moon shots for the Twins really is bothersome. Edit...Go White White Sox, nice sweep today Edited September 5, 2010 by kwolf68
Whitewashed in '05
Big day for our sox! They just need to keep chipping away at the division lead. By the way, what happened with CQ HBP? I just saw Bobby close it out and the highlights at the end.
hi8is
QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 02:31 AM) By the way, what happened with CQ HBP? Carlos was involved in a play at the plate in the 3rd where he hit salty. It was a clean play. In his next ab - lackey threw inside for the first pitch for a ball. The second pitch hit him. At the end of the inning Carlos and Lackey appeared to be talking with no hostility... Lackey probably saying to him that it wasn't intentional... Q probably reminding him that he is a b****. CaliSoxFanViaSWside
Red Sox played like crap except for the pitching. Bad D , terrible with runners on. Way to kick ass on teams that suck and manage to put together a nice little road win streak. Let's get 10 in row ! Kyyle23
You know what sucks, everytime a Sox batter is hit, the Sox are warned. Every damn time. Umps know Ozzie wont shy away from retaliation, so they take it away from him altogether. That just really sucks.
hi8is
Isn't that standard pratice across MLB for all teams?
lostfan
QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 11:41 PM) Isn't that standard pratice across MLB for all teams? When a pitcher hits a batter to issue a warning immediately? Not really unless the umpire thinks something is going on or is about to go on. Every damn time. Umps know Ozzie wont shy away from retaliation, so they take it away from him altogether. That just really sucks. When was the last time we hit a batter, especially on purpose? We have been hit the 2nd most times, and hit someone the 2nd least amount. Ozzie lost his pair of balls a while ago when it comes to calling to have players hit. SoxAce
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 10:05 PM) When was the last time we hit a batter, especially on purpose? We have been hit the 2nd most times, and hit someone the 2nd least amount. Ozzie lost his pair of balls a while ago when it comes to calling to have players hit. I was gonna say. I haven't seen an Ozzie team retaliate in years when a pitcher hits us. Usually it's when a guy hits us once or more... Hawk always says "He's gonna pay, maybe not this game or the next one, but in a series" and yet nothing happens.
