Steve9347
Per Cowley on the Score Beckham's hand is getting worse, he cannot hold a bat, and the Sox are going to have it checked out again, and fear it is indeed broken. southsider2k5
The injury run of the last couple of months is just unbelievable.
iamshack
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 03:08 PM) The injury run of the last couple of months is just unbelievable. Tell that to the Red Sox and Twinkies... I think we're just spoiled because we usually avoid things like this.
scenario
Didn't they x-ray it the night it got hit... and didn't find any breaks?
bigruss
Ugh. Can Morel be our Valencia, that would be such a huge boost.
Cali
Vizquel @ 2nd, Morel @ 3rd please... Torn Labrum be damned....
fathom
This wouldn't be surprising. His swing looked very weak the last couple of days, as he was pushing the bat through the zone. Would hate for it to be true though.
The Ginger Kid
pure speculation, but if it's a deep contusion and not a break he could have easily re-aggravated it on any play. One thing we know is that it's not an obvious break on the x-ray.
NorthSideSox72
Let's hope its just inflammation or something muscular that will heal quickly.
South Side Fireworks Man
Give him a cortisone shot and he'll be fine in three days.....I hope.
Brian
If it is indeed broken, I want a steel cage match vs that Indian trainer.

flavum
I don't think it was an Indians person. It was at a Cleveland hospital. Edited September 7, 2010 by flavum

I believe they actually have pretty good hospitals, but even if they didnt it should still be Sox doctors checking him out.
Paulie4Pres
Actually, I'm pretty sure he had it x-rayed at the ballpark... At least, that's how it sounded to me.
Wanne
I thought they rushed him back a tad too early myself. Like fathom said...his swing has looked pretty feeble the past few days. Why play him if he can't swing the bat. I have no problem with Omar manning 2B for as long as he needs to. Personally against Beckett, Ozzie should have gone Omar at 2B and Teahen at 3B anyway... GreatScott82
Give him a week off and see how it progresses. Thank goodness its September and we have guys on the bench. I would definitley like to see Morel a few times.

knightni
It could be why he overthrew that ball last night. He lost grip.
The Ginger Kid
Per gonzo: "Irritated" right hand is what the medical staff is calling beckham's injury. fwiw, he was x-rayed at the park. All parks have those portable machines.
elrockinMT
Teahan at 3B and not Morel or Viciedo. Teahan needs to hit and field
caulfield12
I thought they took him to Lutheran Hospital. Wasn't there some comment in the papers that one of the technicians made some kind of joke "about it being broken" when he was just teasing Beckham and the x-rays were clean?
