I have been thinking about how great it would be to add Rasmus since that "trade me" incident. Pierre-Rios-Rasmus OF would be great.

Yuck.

I will say this. Colby Rasmus is one of the few young OF I'd trade any prospect and/or pretty much any current player to get. He has not even begun to tap into his potential yet. Though that could be me, as a fan, talking as I liked the kid alot as a prospect.

I guess what I'm saying is maybe...just maybe the players on this roster would respond to somebody of LaRussa's stature differently. Who knows...I could be a worse response. Plus...you'd have to factor in how Paulie'd feel about it.

I think it's time for Larussa to hang it up. I doubt he wants the challenge of a new team. When managers get old they get very complacent. There will be no spark coming out of that move.

Is LaRussa really that much better than Ozzie Guillen?

Not now. I wonder what the attitude among Cardinal fans are about LaRussa.

He's no different than any other manager. There's no magic wand when you don't have the talent.

Why not? If the Ozzie/Walker haters used the same standards and apply them to Coop, he should be the out the door.

Outside of having a reputation most on this staff (long term) have shown more signs of regression. So his reputation has overshadowed his works.

The pitching staff is the #1 reason why they might finish in 2nd and hopefully not 3rd.

Because I would rather have Cooper as our pitching coach than LaRussa as our manager.

Would you really want LaRussa over Guillen ?

In a heartbeat...there is nothing that Ozzie does anymore that can be considered above average. I guarantee you that at least LaRussa would manage like we're an AL team. I'm also sick and tired of Ozzie's teams fading down the stretch.

So what exactly am I missing here Sqwert?

Put Ozzies numbers out over 32 years, and they are almost identical.

You mean Kenny's teams. He signed those guys.

And Ozzie coaches them. Ozzie's strategy this season was supposed to keep everyone fresh. Instead, we see a team that has absolutely quit down the stretch. I don't even think LaRussa is a great coach. Rather, I think Ozzie's time has run out with the Sox and it's time for a change.

I think the guys are plenty fresh...except for the bullpen, which fell apart towards the end.

A veteran team that is beaten though is always going to respond differently from a young team like Baltimore.

The thing that makes me lean towards taking Tony over Ozzie...it'd get Walker's ass outta here (which should merit a Grant Park parade IMO).

LOL, the Sox bats have a better season than I think any of us expected, everyone shuts up about Walker for about 3 months, and now that the season's over and no one cares any more we can go back to normal Walkripping.

If you are comparing a man with 32 years experience to a guy with 7 years, then its really only fair to look at their first 7 seasons and Ozzie's are much more impressive.

I would prefer him in a Pat Riley type role.

Personally, I don't care for La Russa.

He's as polarizing as Ozzie is.

But Reinsdorf is polarizing.

I'm not getting new ownership and I'll never stop loving my White Sox so I have to deal with it.

Both Ozzie and Kenny have to go.

Can you see La Russa taking order from Kenny? C'mon...ain't gonna happen.

La Russa returns with czar like powers.

I'm fairly certain that based off his reputation that he'd make sure some Twins players went down next season. He certainly wouldn't be kissing Garenhire's ass.

In whatever role he's ends up, you can sure sure there will be no hero-worshipping coming from 35th street.

And perhaps, this will trickle down to the players as well.
