On HBK/'Taker II. There's no way that this can't main event. Especially if you're doing something such as career vs. streak. With that being said, I can see HBK losing, taking his time off & being "provoked" to come back.

I think it will still take second fiddle to Hart/McMahon

It makes no sense to end Taker's Mania streak at this point, especially to Michaels.

If they were going to do it at all, it would make more sense to have a young guy who they see as the future of the company end the streak. To have a close-to-done wrestler end the other close-to-done wrestler's streak is just pointless.

I'm the opposite side. It would be a big risk to have an up and comer end the streak. It is similar to "retiring" Flair.

I feel the streak ending to a veteran is more believable and acceptable if it is at the hands of a veteran like HBK.

Wanna push a young guy? Take away the title stipulation in the Rumble and have someone win it. Or bring back King of the Ring.

I see your point, but after all these years I don't see the value in ending the streak.

And I wasn't talking about just any young guy ending it. The scenario would have to all line up - young guy, locked in a longer-term deal, already getting over with the fans but in need of that one WTF moment to send it to another level. It would have to be someone on the cusp of breaking out. I don't know who fits that bill right now in the E.

Although, really, it seems that more of the moments that "make" guys come from promos or gimmick matches.

Could you imagine if they booked Kennedy to end Taker's streak at one of the Manias? Would of been a disaster.

True.

Which is why I don't think the streak should be broken. At this point, let him go out undefeated at Mania.

It will be a talking point for as long as they want it to be, and it would be a great highlight for Taker's HoF induction.

Losing now makes Taker the 2007 Patriots - leaving the streak intact makes him the 1972 Dolphins.

If he could of stayed healthy, it could of been a real possibility. Hell, he had a title run lined up. At one point he was over enough, hell I was a fan.

Right now, there's no guy who hasn't been in the title picture that I'd give he honor of ending the streak. The only guys who I'd consider for it would be: Edge, Jericho, Punk & HBK. But none of these guys would get a major rub from it, well other than Punk who deserves a legit title run sooner or later.

Brian, from what ive seen/heard lately it looks like Orton is getting that Austin status where hes essentially a heel yet the fan will cheer for him..

He has been getting a lot of cheers recently, and at the same time ide hardly say he was doing anything a face would do..

True. When he gave Sheamus the RKO on Raw a few weeks ago, that pop was huge.

NXT was kinda of interesting. Something new and fresh. Danielsen and Jericho had a real good match. Might be a good way to establish and push young talent instead of having them beat Taker at Mania. :P

yeah, I have been off WWE programing for awhile now, but watched NXT because I'm a Danielson fan and thought the concept sounded interesting. I agree, I think it's a good way to put over new talent and was pleased that Danielson seems to be the focus.

He got a nice pop when he put Jericho in that leg submission and Jericho sold it like Danielsen was gonna pull off the upset.

Everyone dislikes Sheamus. I really dont think he is much to watch wrestle, he is pretty stiff. Even I popped when Orton gave him the RKO. I will definitely cheer for Orton if/when they lock up

Agreed on interesting. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either.

Good to see Danielson on TV. However my highlight of the night was Punk & his rookie. Gold. But so far none of the rookies look horrible, so it'll be interesting to see how the "season" plays out.

Also Michael Cole was very irritating to listen to last night. According to Joey Styles those were his legit feelings on Danielson/guys in the indies.

If that is the case, that is just wrong to bury those guys on TV like he did. Cole could go down as the 2nd worst commentator next to Mike Adamle. I would think guys in WWE would watch ROH and other indy stuff to scout out young guys.

Cole is a douche and easily the worst announcer in a long long time. MAYBE worse than Adamle.

I also think the broken leg angle allows McMahon to once again accept the match, since it will be against a hobbled Bret Hart. longshot, I dont see how you can NOT see a Hart/McMahon faceoff at this point.

Oh I believe they might have a match or faceoff or whatever. I just don't believe

they'd give Bret the belt.

And the Cole vs the internet thing from NXT might be half-work/half-shoot but at least we've got Mathews there to balance it out, telling us how great Bryan is.

And that match was TERRIFIC.

Oh yeah, I could see why you think that way. It would be a nice sendoff for him though. Or an interestng way for him to come back to the WWE on a more fulltime basis

I thought he wasn't that good. I know he was going for that "flustered" promo he's been doing more and more as he ages, but it seemed like he couldn't figure out anything to say so he'd go "AAAGGHHHH" or "I HATE YOU" or whatever.

I would have liked a vintage cocky Flair promo asking Abyss who he's ever wrestled, and then running down the names of the legendary guys he's had classics with. Maybe they were afraid that kind of promo would make Abyss look weak?

Flair was SOAKED in sweat when he took that jacket off. Reminded me of myself when the temp gets into the 90's. Gross.

And AJ doing promos as a Flair impersonator seems awkward. It goes along with the storyline, but it just sounds weird to hear Flair's inflections with Styles' voice.

You and I should do a wrestling radio show, Critic. We like the same things but disagree a lot on certain points. Ha

I bet a rasslin' podcast would be a lot of fun to do, actually.

I used to be the lucky guy who got to sit in the studio and play the cds for the syndicated "Piledriver Rock and Wrestling" show. It was brutal
