Yeah. All he did was dunk.

Then he had issues at Kentucky and went to Jr College in Texas.

Freakish athletic ability and a 40+ inch vertical at that level gets you noticed very quickly, no matter what the rest of your game looks like. A kid can learn a post move, they can't learn a 40 inch vertical.

I guess i don't feel like im so much older than you. You would have liked Blake griffin 1.0 aka Shawn kemp.

The first real basketball season I can remember is '96 when the Bulls played the Sonics in the championship. I know I really liked Shawn Kemp back then (had his poster hanging on the wall in my room), but I guess it's hard to remember specifics. I just know I generally liked the guy a lot... I still love watching his highlights on YouTube.

Oh, and sorry if my last post seemed a little "snarky." I was hammered when I wrote that last night.

And those were all great ones to watch back in the day(though for a few I was too young to remember anything but highlight reels and I hate Shaq, the young and old version) but overall I just like Blake better.

Shaq was the most dominant player I've ever seen in terms of sheer physicality, he was an absolute beast.

Not arguing that. That doesn't change the fact that I hate the guy though.

The only thing I enjoyed watching about Shaq was when he broke backboards. Other than that, his style bored the crap out of me. It was like watching a seventh grader steal lunch money from a first grader. It was all brute force and size.

Which is what made him so dominating and fun to watch. I remember thinking in 1995, "Ugh, this guy is going to be around for 15 more years doing these things."

I've never been what you could call a true Shaq fan. But I have to vehemently disagree with the notion that he was just a 330 pound ape that bullied and overpowered everybody. Sure, he did do that. But Shaq was a physical and athletic marvel for his size in his younger days and prime years. He had a bevy of post moves that complimented that brute force. Jump hooks, drop steps, spin moves, ect. He was also an excellent passer for a center. Shaq's peak, which I would say spanned from 1997 through 2003, was as good a peak as we've seen in the last 20 years or so (save MJ), IMO. I get a kick out of these 15-year olds today that act like Dwight Howard is the greatest discovery since internet porn. He's basically the Walmart version of Shaq.

Come on man. You can't watch some prime Duncan and Olajuwon and say that Shaq had anything resembling a post move.

I think the fact Shaq was a physical monster and had some post game compared to guys like Howard/Griffin who came into the league only being able to dunk was his point.

And you can't honestly say Shaq got by on 15 dunks per game during his prime. Like I said to Knight, Youtube is your friend. Memory eludes a lot of us. Hell, I sometimes forget how good MJ was. There's plenty of data from Youtube that perfectly illustrates how versatile Shaq was from an offensive point of view.

Whenever one of the yahoo sports bloggers makes a post, all of the commenters talk about how much the article/author sucks or they hang onto a typo the author made before he edited it. But hardly ever about the actual article. Yahoo users are incredibly stupid.

Today is always the realization that there is no football on tv until the draft.

I dont care about the Celtics or Heat, but I think for the Bulls you want the Heat to have as many losses as possible.

You can say the exact same thing about the Celtics.

The Bulls are getting 1 of these 2 teams in the 2nd round (barring upsets that shouldn't happen). The Bulls are a Hell of a lot better off if they go into that round with home court.

Thats not entirely true. If the Bulls could get the 1 seed and these two teams were 2/3.

I just think that the Celtics are a better match up for the Bulls than the Heat. Id just rather not play Lebron.

Yeah, that would be a nice place to be...except for the fact that Orlando might be the #4 seed, and the Bulls have had their issues with Orlando.

Honestly, the Bulls are going to have to go through these 2 teams, most likely, if they want to make the finals.

Conversely...if either of these teams wants to get to the finals, they have to get through Derrick Rose.

And for all of those who said Lebron cant play SG, Spoelstra just said that Lebron defends all 5 positions and plays 4 offensive positions during the game. Meaning that currently Lebron plays SG.

Lebron is the best player in the NBA by a wide margin.

The Magic just aren't that great. It'd be very nice to get them in the 2nd round but I'm sure it's going to be Miami or Boston.

Even if they're not that great, they have the shooters to win 2 games just off of random chance. That's a tough series just on the odds.

Eh, they'll just as likely completely lose a game or two that way. Like I said, I'd much rather play the Magic as they're just no where near as good as Boston or Miami. We'd beat Orlando in a 7 game series, Boston/Miami I'm not as confident about though I think we'd have a shot unlike most people.
