Butler's a 10-11 PER guy. Very meh. If this means he'll start over Bogans, I guess it would be alright.

This bulls team doesn't need another 18-20+ PER guy (we would all like one of course, but thats just not going to happen). As long as he has the ability to spread the floor, handle the rock in a half court set for teams not to double team Rose and play decent defense from the 2 (not to mention add some length/athleticism for Rose) he'll be fine in this offense.

Brewer can't shoot 3's or spread the floor. He does everything else you said pretty well.

Butler's not a much better defender than Korver and isn't as good offensively. I don't see a huge point in the acquisition. But if it means less Bogans, it's alright with me.

IMO, the Bulls need another 15 PER player (like Rip or Prince) who can shoot the 3 and play D. Butler isn't that.

Well according to that article, he wants to sign with the Bulls, not vice versa. We'll see what happens there, but I agree a guy like Rip (though he's more of a screen guy like Deng, but can hit the open 3 at times) would be a nice addition. (especially for his free throw shooting which is one of the Bulls biggest weakness) Well... I should say.. a motivated Rip.

Rasual Butler is horrible and will have as much impact as Stacey King on the Bulls playoff prospects.

So you're telling me his yelling of "Give it to me Big Sexy" didn't help motivate Kurt Thomas?

How long until the Heat get that Wade should be taking the last shot? He's a clutch player that has proven he can hit the big shot at the end, whereas LeBron's resume includes many more misses that hits in that spot.

The problem with the Heat isn't that they need someone else taking the last shot, it's that they do the "superstar" thing for the last 2 minutes. They're actually too determined to give the ball to their big names. Instead of running an offense, they go into all-isolation, all the time mode.

Oh, and I underestimated 'Melo and the impact he would have. Screw depth. Superstars are what win you titles in the NBA. I want no part of the Knicks in the first round.

They're a whole 2 and 1 so far with 1 very good win and 1 horrendous loss after the deal, lets calm down here. They're obviously better with the trade but they're not going to be playing defense like they did last night pretty much ever again. They're a solid team now but they're still no threat to the top 4 teams in the East in a playoff series and especially not the top 3.

I don't see why folks have to be hating on Business as Rasual. He is lights out from three point range and can at least make his own shot. He would likely take most of the minutes that Captain Brick Keith Bogans plays, with Brewer still being our defensive specialist. This would also allow for even more flexibility and for Korver/Brewer to play a few more minutes at SF spelling Deng.

Business as Rasual would be a very solid pickup... while not costing us Omer Asik!

Lights out? Cmon now. Rasual and Bogans career shooting stats are eerily similar. They're both horrendous on offense while Bogans is the better defender. There is just literally no point in signing Butler.

Yes, the guy that shot 32.6% from three this year and 33.6% from three last year is "lights out from three point range." Hell, even if you look at his whole career, 36% isn't lights out. Get real.

Perhaps I got carried away. I still like the addition at no cost to us. Anything is better than Bogans.

And seriously, Business as Rasual is a terrible nickname. Especially because it's pronounced ruh-SOOL.

No place is even close to as good of a fit as Miami.

Agreed. Miami gives a great shot at winning a title and he is almost certainly the starting PG for the Heat and because he is a very good 3 pt shooter he fits in well with that roster. On the rest of the teams he is a backup PG.
